Yeh, but it still belonged to Highams then Cashy. Think the Enfield Group bought it around 81/82 .. well, summat like that anyway.

I do not think though, Bernard, that the owners would have demolished Woodnook without an assurance of funding from the banks for a new build.

I think the original intention from the purchasers of Woodnook Mills was to convert it into a mixed use development, however, didn't have enough takers ... couldn't leave it to rot with no projected...

Don't be daft Margaret ... all industrial around there ... not many shops close for half day now. Still you do it on-line 24/7 :D:D

Makes sense though that they will not pull the chimney down until all the storeys have been demolished, so that it just falls on the rubble.

Just had it confirmed, from the highest source, that the application was for a new steel chimney .. but never went ahead.

Love the 'photo Tom .. gulp, made me tummy turn over just looking at it...
