No so don't fret.
Check your dates, it isn't really important, but I have been a member since before the great crash of 2004 which meant everyone before that date now look like they started on the same day. Which is slightly longer than yourself.
Yes it's a shame when members are no longer with us because of death.

Now get on with posting.
;)

We can all start up threads about what interests us and talk about those subjects freely with others who are interested.

There has been a rash of exchange about drugs fom certain members which I did make a few comments about initially but then, because I have nothing useful to add on the subject, have given it a wide berth and I think that quite a few others have done the same to avoid getting into a spiral of useless comments and personal insults which was leading nowhere fast. Luckily there are plenty of other interesting subjects to talk about and fun things to laugh about and in any case they'll soon get fed-up of banging on about their own little "rebellions" sooner or later.

I have never used the ignore button - i 'd rather see someones opinion and then choose to ignore or disregard their comment afterwards...that's if I can be bothered to read some of it.:D

Giving certain subjects a big swerve would be fine if the people on those drug threads didn't bring their septic view over onto other threads to continue the indoctrination.
I started this thread to get an explanation why we always had more guests online than members, it went fine until the drugs gang turned up trolling on this thread.

The arrival of this group took the humour out of the postings, pushed the regulars off line, and I shouldnt be forced to abandone my thread because of the nasty posters.

I was refering to the thread hijackers, not the inteligent people with some thing to say.

I found the drug threads and the acrimony they provoked really tiresome........and I didn't want to read all that stuff. I did try to avoid it, but found comments relating to these threads seeping into totally unrelated subjects.
And to hear long term members who have been regular contributors called the 'three stooges'....in a way that is not only derogatory, but insulting too....well to put no fine point on it, it wasn't pleasant visiting the site...so I didn't.
I accept that folk are entitled to their opninions and rightly so, but I don't want to find those opinions ranted about in every other post.

And if that sounds petty it isn't meant to be. I just tell it like it appears to me...my own view.

I agree, hon (Ooops ... does "hon" make us a clique?) ... it's the acrimony that p's me off ... it really has nothing to do with drugs; if the topic were the "Care and Maintenance of Pandas" it would crop up. Some posters there are who believe that there is a clique, a bunch of insiders who want to rule the roost. The fact that there is no clique, that there are no clicks, doesn't seem to penetrate their skulls. Members of the non-existent clique are rightfully upset about this. Unfortunately, it ain't gonna change any time soon.

Oh ... I forgot ... there is a clique ... The Fellowship of The Hat:alright: Right now, it's only me (I know, Susie, it should be "I"; but that sounds two clumbsy) and DaveinGermany who are members. It's open to anyone who has been hammered in The Hat. And for the month of May, those who have driven by The Hat, or flown over it, are invited to apply for membership. Have a nice day, eh.;)

Crash of 2004! Yeah that seems to be a recurrent theme-- that was the same on a torrent site I was on :)

Yeah. Ernie's profile is still here. I was happy to see Admin had put his profile as "resting in peace" I think ern would like that

Shucks thought I might qualify having travelled across Canada on the CN railway - but I see it doesn't go anywhere near The Hat. Pity, would have liked to have joined such a select group...:(:p

Yes they do it for any member that we know about having passed away, if anyone knows of members that are no longer with us they will bring them up to date. (though they have to be careful, in case any of our sicker members might think it would be funny to claim it for someone still alive).
