co-op in ossy.

Somebody i know who is 70 worked in the co-op is Oswaldtwistle when she was young,obviously it wasnt the building it is now but she cant remember which building it was-does anybody know?

My Grandfather was the manager of a CO_OP but that was in Walton-le -Dale near Preston
I have been trying to find Archive files on the co-op but no joy upto now

I remember the co-op being in a building that has since been demolished, it was opposite the TSB IIRC

Yes misskitty it was at the end of john st opposite the tsb will try and find a pic for you the actual building is no longer there

I remember the Co-op building being at the top of Union Rd when I was a kid, living on White Ash Lane. What a waste to knock down such a decent building, only to replace it with a crappy car park.

On the extreme right of that photo may be Garinda's familys bakers shop.

How much are they collecting to build this church. A penny a week?
It nust be nigh on twenty years since the Co-op building was knocked down. It could be argued that it was the second best building in Ossy, after the Town Hall.

Thought most churches these days were raising money to keep up the maintenance and struggling ,dont know why they would build another one
