I used to use P2P a year or so ago but stopped because half the files were spoofed. All I use now is Bittorrent for downloading Linux ISO's which use this as a legitimate method of distribution.

I recon the games getting more trouble than its worth. All that happens now is people borrow USB hard disks and share that way.

I guess most of us will have broken the law at some time by recording a TV prog and then lending it to someone else (like me asking for Dr. Who episodes shown whilst we were away).

When I was younger I used to tape songs from the radio onto a cassette tape by using a cassette/radio which was designed especially to be able to record from the rdio. It had no other record function (no mike). It wasn't an alternative to buying the records, I never would have been able to afford to do that, but it did help me enjoy more artists and consequently encouraged me to purchase LPs (thats what we called them back then) by the people I liked best.

its all about money and influence

record companies mainly and software companies have cried so much about piracy you now get less time in jail for selling drugs than what you would for downloading stuff you wouldnt probably buy in the first place

if software companies were so sure of themselves all games and software should come with a money back gurentee if the software is buggy or if the game simply isnt up to standard

ive bought games in the past for the pc that were around £30 - £40 and to simply put it they were not worth the case they came in compared to other games of the same price range

GAME have a policy where if you consider a game you purchase to be crap you get a full refund which is a good idea and should be enforced by law on all software and games etc

if that happened bill gates would be up the creek without a paddle because he has never released a fully working problem free version of windows yet lol
