Re: Am I Racist?
There's nothing racist about noticing the ethnicity of the people in question. I once lived amongst USAF personnel and their families and we had a similar problem with the American teenagers who were a bit exuberant and tended to disturb the peace from time to time. Everyone said, "The American kids are a bit of a nuisance". Was it racist? If so, I'm guilty.

Re: Am I Racist?
No it's not racist and I wish people would get out of this habit of apologising for using a Pakistani persons ethnicity. If you had said Asian drivers that would include all Asian nationalities and how often do we see Chinese people flying about in supped up cars.
The fact of the matter is there are some Pakistani drivers out there that are probably excellent drivers, but then you get the minority, usually younger Pakistani males, who have little regard for other road users. |
Re: Am I Racist?
"ASIAN friends (Pakistani & Indian), i also have black, Italian, Scotish, Irish, and Russian friends. So please tell me how i can be racist"
Hmmmmm, no american friends eh mate? Sounds pretty racist to me!:) Alright, I'll be a pal if you care to add "us" to your list! |

Two T's in Scottish. ;) I do not consider myself racist then on a bad day with all the ethnic interactions I have at work then I would be guilty of racial stereotyping ie; Hungarian drivers are barmy is that Dutchman stoned his reversing is dreadfull Is that Croation security dude has a mouth like a sewer etc etc etc .

chinese guys have some of the phattest rides going - the amount of souping up they do is unbelievable not to mention the whole souping up for road motors came from the orient/japan to the point nissan designed the skyline model for the sole purpose of souping up with its incredible road power followed closely by subaru which altered its rally car for road usage. watch fast and furious - tokyo drift - that stuff isnt just stuff they've decided to put into movies - in tokyo police close whole districts for this stuff its so popular. |

Re: Am I Racist?
Ninety nine point one of a human beings genes are the same, point one per cent are different, it mighn't be the pigment of their skin, the shape of the face, or the way they speak, to quote from ex President Clinton, the South African people have a saying "I am because you are". As he said it is less expensive to educate a nation than it is to make war on them.
Not my words but Bill Clintons, these words answer all racist arguments. You said am I a Racist, only you can answer that. |
Re: Am I Racist?
Racist......the most overused term in the lexicon. And the majority of people can't even define what it means!

Re: Am I Racist?
I think the question really is : do others percieve you as being racist, and I don't think most people do. Sometimes perhaps there is a misunderstanding as to what racism actually is. To be aware that a person's skin is a different colour is no more racist that noticing that someone has different coloured hair or eyes. The fact that they speak a different language or have different customs again is not a matter of racism. It is when people of a different colour, race etc. to ones own are regarded as inferior because they are of a different colour, race or whatever that it becomes racism.
Therefore if you remark that someone is Chinese, Arab, Pakistani, West Indian and another sees that as racist then I would question their perception of those races, not yours. |
