Politics u make me laugh!!!

Conservative leader David Cameron has said families are the "ultimate source of our society's strength or weakness".
He said his party must "look at ways of supporting families and also supporting marriage so that couples are encouraged to get together and stay together".

Oh if only there was a perfect world :rofl38: wonder what they propose to encourage it??? Sorry im an old cynic been there & worn the tshirt mate, happy perfect marriage with a selfish cheating drunken lazy uncaring violent immoral {delete where appropiate] partner - no such thing:rolleyes:

Its time Cameron got on his bike and paid a visit to the real world. If thats his answer to some of societies problems then he has the largest pair of rose tinted specs in the country. The quoted £20 bn a year could end up higher if he takes this road when in power. Unhappy couples in marrage can have a serious impact on their children and lead to the same problems that children from broken or single parent families have if not worse.

I do hope your'e not complaining. You've had it drummed in to you enough times that single parents and their delinquent children are responsible for all the worlds problems :D

Didn't your ex have a violent and unhappy childhood? Not an excuse for his behavior as I've know many people that have gone from having a bad childhood to being excellent partners and parents, but I think these are the kind of issues Cameron was trying to address.

I agreed with some of what he was saying but disagreed with just as much too, so yes it will be interesting to see what they have in the pipeline.

:rofl38: exactly what i thought, gee i wouldnt be alive today if i didnt get out, again the single parent family is targetted as societies main problems which insults me bigtime - i've met quite a few single parent family children & they are remarkably well balanced & happier than some of their counterparts as they dont have the extra stress, maybe improving the poverty gap & stop mis respresenting one parent families, as me & tinks discovered shockingly in criminology that the middle class is the ones to watch out for, they dont do things for need other than attention & glory for it as cool:(

Wouldn't that be wonderful? Why do they have this stupid idea that staying together "for the sake of the children" is ideal? I know someone whose ex had thrown her down the stairs and made a couple of attempts at strangling her before she finally got rid of him. He's still an arrogant self centred waste of space but at least without him in the house the kids are no longer nervous wrecks.

.....& mine of 2 parent family ??

The thing is that it isnt down to whether its one parent family or a 2 parent family, its about the parenting as whole & addressing the socio economic problems too, the rights issues, etc. Mr cameron is implying that in this day & age that the nuclear family thats been broken down over the years is the best one - many of problems has resulted from unhappy parents living together for the sake of the kids thing does not work!! The thing is some people that have had bad exp in childhood do actually carry it over to the next generation than actively recogonising the past & thus changing the pattern so it wont happen in the future & thats the difference - break the cycle !!

I think Mr C needs to accept that families have changed & get into 2006, the dreams of 50yrs ago dont exist, how about supporting & recognising the diverseness in family networks into improving society.

No one should stay in a violent relationship and that goes for either sex. I honestly don't think Cameron was on about people in violent relationships, he was talking about the 'I'm bored with this relationship'. I'm sorry but we do live in a quick fix society. A couple of arguments and that's it one of the couple are off.

Cameron is a middle class monkey still wired to the Victorian and Edwardian view of life. Taking of his rose tinted glasses would blind him with reality so he lives in the same weird world as Wako Jacko.:D

Based on Camerons views I should by rights be a mass murderer

It's not that long ago that we had a quick fix of being clipped round the ear by a copper if you broke the law. Nowadays the copper will get sued and the culrpit will get tons of compensation. Parental issues or totally inadequate government policy ?

So then cheating tarts & bistards are to be forgiven & u have to stay in that relationship so they can do it again again etc or it creates an adverse jealousy cos one has been forgiven then they accuse the other just in case even tho they havent ???

Both! When the were brought home after being given a clip round the ear from the copper, the mother usually gave them one too and then said those words that struck fear into every child "You wait til your Dad gets home"! ;)

Some peoples relationships can withstand that though, and fair play to them if they are strong enough to stick together through something like that for the kids. If the can't, and it would be detrimental to the kids, then of course they should part.

HE HE HE! I know it's like coffee mornings at mine :D
