Put me in charge of imigration I'm sure I could sort out the situation amicably.
This thread seems a bit one sided where are the people who believe that multiculturism is good for England and we should be welcoming the immigrants and all the good things they bring with them?

Same here though it may sound cruel and sick but the only way I could have a mortgage is if the bubble bursts and prices crash. There would be that many up for sale I could pick and choose which given a few years would start another boom.

Personally no I don't think its worth it. There are still those out there buying them doing them up for the rental market besides which you could end up something that might need extensive repairs or modinisation.

Re: Housing shortage - No wonder!!

It's not just housing and councils who are suffering. The NHS is going under with the added weight of extra people to treat and less nurses on the shop floor. We are absolutely run ragged and are dangerously short staffed throughout the country. Tea breaks are a thing of the past, I worked a 13 1/2 hour shift yesterday with just half an hours break, our hospitals are heaving but the government just keeps on cutting beds......:(

When you look at the criteria for immigration to places like Australia, Canada and New Zealand (and believe me, I've looked), there are hundreds of hoops to jump through for skilled migrants. Here, we are taking people with limited skills into jobs which our home grown youngsters should be made to do. I appreciate that some (not all) of our youngsters would rather sit on their backsides and claim benefits instead of working in a menial job but I believe that state handouts should not be an option to anybody under the age of 21 who hasn't ever worked.

Anybody care to put me in charge? :D;)

I would go along with that Lettie, apart from genuine cases of people unable to work.

A resident interviewed in TV whom claimed to be the represntative of the some local village Was ranting and raving about immigration being the cause of the floods!!!..Opposistion to the building of new homes is based on the pure selfesness of well-to-do Old Tories not wanting to spoil the view other the village green, they care not for the welfare of the vast majority of this Nation.
