It is becoming a nightmare, Panorama last night did a programe on Immigrationand and Slough. This area has always had a very high proportion of immigrants, it is now the 'first choice' of eastern europeans. They are having to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds building a reception centre, to cope with the level of these new economic immigrants at the expense of other services.
They are also living in illegal sheds and garages at ridiculous rents, these shanty dwellers do not appear on the immigrant figures, giving a distorted view of the number arriving on their doorstep.

In my humble opinion there is not a lot we can do about 'global warming', but if we take a few leaves out of Spain and France's book we can do something about immigration, don't make them as welcome as we do. Spain and France do not employ immigrants if there is a national wanting a job, and they do not 'throw' money at them like we do.

we watched panorama and what was striking was the number of immigrants who settled here 30/40 years ago all singing the same tune= Stop this Madness now, they were all saying the infrastructure cannot cope with these thousands of "new immigrants" the government do/will not accept they are even here, so the councils funding does noway adequately cover what they need for these people, so they have to make cut-backs in areas and the "real population of slough suffer. RIDICULOUS.:(

The difference between the UK, France and Spain is that the UK Government
obey and enact European laws if they think there is a chance of extracting more taxes and fines from the people so that they can squander the money on hair brained ideas.
Spain and France on the other hand (If they feel it's not in the countries interest) Tell the Europeans to 'Sod off' or completely ignore the edict.

Is it dangerous to suggest that it could be non-PC to criticise the number of immigrants we are now welcoming into this country?

My own personal opinion on the subject is that we are a small country with limited resources in danger of bursting at the seams.

That is not a racist opinion. It applies to every potential immigrant regardless of race creed colour or any other identifying feature.

What I find difficult to understand is why some people find great difficulty in getting into this country by legitimate means (such as the husband or wife of someone born in this country who has married them when both were working elsewhere and now the UK national wants to come home and can't bring his or her husband or wife with them) yet other people seem to be able to come here willy-nilly.

sometimes that issue can be a "very grey" area.

The one thing that I did find disturbing was, a certain section of the population of Slough renting illegal sheds and garages to the latest batch to arrive as there is no alternative accomodation available. Surely the law could take action about this? On second thoughts maybe a blind eye is the best solution, lest the problem becomes the Councils.;)

the problem is still the councils n the population that already live in slough, all the extra rubbish for starters, gets dumped either in alleyways or in peoples bins.

Watching that programe last night made me realise how well off we are, the people of Slough have an intolerable situation on their hands. The beggars, prostitutes and muggers from ? are a curse indeed!
