Where can you get a good pie at the right money that taste's good.
I am coming home in two weeks and I know of two bakers in Haslingden who makes good pies. Any other suggestions?

There's one in the Arndale. Don't expect Bill to sponsor football though, he prefers odd shaped balls :D

Yeah, I suppose you're right, Dave and Roy...still find it very sad and I'll still be keeping up my one-man boycott, though. I hope the sausage rolls in Lily Mae's aren't made by Hollands or I'll be having words with Mr Gregg! ;)

You are being naughty again!!!

Pilot House pub at the corner of Johnson and King streets ... made by Margaret Grogan, originally of Preston. She makes a wicked steak and oyster pie:theband: But perhaps this is a little out of your way:D

Well I'm shocked and stunned and just a little amazed:eek: this is post 55 on this thread and not one post from Rindi. I have to say that not long ago I got some meat and potato pies from a little shop in Ossy, that lick Hollands into a cocked hat, Martins Family bakers make some of the best pies I've ever had:rolleyes:

Hollands pies is in rossendale though wynonie because Hyndburn doesnt start till after their carpark.

And in fact their address should be Rising Bridge, Accrington but Rising Bridge doesnt fit on the vans!!!!:D

By the way when spug comes down he has his orders to take hollands steak & kidney puddings back up there.

Agree about Haslingden - Cissy Greens meat pies you cant beat them - cooked in the back of the shop in the morning and on sale at 9am.

They might well pay their business rates to Rossendale council, but, as far as the world at large is concerned, they're in Accrington, because that's what's on their address, so they should show a little bit more loyalty to local organisations. But, as has already been said, they're now owned by a company in Leeds so all local identity and loyalty has gone by the board. Pity, really. :(

We must take on board that the company employ local people and have not chosen to move production to Yorkshire. You can't win them all?

There is one in the Arndale Centre in Accrington.
