The flats that are on the end USED to be used to house people that had just come out of jail. I say USED TO BE, not sure any more.

Well I never knew that but the flats were done up a few years ago.

This weekend's Observer has a photograph of a Honey in her bra and knickers, plus the first letter of complaint, from two young women, who say the competition is degrading.

I don't think it is fair to say it is degrading. How can you feel degraded by someone elses independent actions? You would have to feel represented by them in some way surely. I don't quite understand it. It is probably jealousy that is driving some people to complain, and spite.

Even if the girls were fully naked it' make no difference to me, because I can't see a reason to associate them with myself. If that makes sense?

It's a shame they didn't feel able to give their names, only that they were two 'fully-clothed Hyndburn Honeys.

I suppose the cynics would probably call them two bitter mingers.

Doesn't really help their cause to remain anonymous !
If you are big enough to whinge about it you should be big enough to put your name to it.

Exactly.

Can't see the point of expressing your views publicly, if you're too timid to put your name to 'em.

People don't need to give their full name, or have their address published, if they'd rather retain some anonymity.

Distaste for something doesn't necessarily have to have a name to it to have effect. Sometimes anonymity is part of the effect.

I'm going to have a see if I can fin the letters online... then i can comment better :p

Personally I think publishing a photograph of a girl in her knickers and bra, is going down the tacky route.

The defence about bikinis being seen on a public beach doesn't really hold up with underwear...unless you're a Peeping Tom.

I remember during the summer living on campus and you could see into EVERYONE'S rooms and hardly anyone bothered to close their curtains! I once was getting changed and forgot and turned around to see three lads stood smoking on the raised walkway across from my room. Very embarrassing :o

I don't think the picture was tacky, I've just taken a look, but it is certainly on a different level to bikinis.

Same old contradictions, considering in post #32 of this thread you said I 'just don't think its local newspaper material', regarding photographs of the girls in their bikinis.

At this rate we'll have a Reader's Wives page, with old Mrs. Higginbottom whippin' em out for a photograph at the Allotment Show.:D

Oh right, so that's why you voted for the "degrades women" option in the poll.

I hope they are coming to terms with their ordeal.

Did they need counselling?

We might have some pictures of a certain local member in a topless goat wrestling competition soon.

At least it will give you a better idea who to vote for ;)
