Re: Benidorm claps down on unruly Brits
Benidorm palace was great... what a show.. did the full monty.. best seats best meal... what a great night..
Can't say I liked the spanish people at all.. ignorant and unwelcoming.. not my fault all thats gone before.. the place smells and (no ones fault, inkow its hot and yes what do i expect duh!) too dry.. I got the feeling everyone I met in spain was fed up of tourists OR the english before they even meet you. PS also well worth a visit to barcelona camp nou with a football shirt on like everyoen else :) The french i found to be genuine and friendly.. very welcoming... met and spoke to many french people and every single one you could imagine being friends with.. very nice people.. Best part of france I ahve seen is millau village under the viaduct.. had two days there... would have been hapy with a week. spain for me 2/10, france 10/10 |
Re: Benidorm claps down on unruly Brits
Probably because they are forced to learn English at an early age and they feel superior in your case.:hehetable.I always got on with them.:D

Re: Benidorm claps down on unruly Brits
Well Thanks To Benipete i went to Benidorm with him last year it was November and just a few days stay but Peter new all the right places to take me the bars, cafes where else can you sit at 10-30am in a tee shirt eating full English breakfast and a pint and have a fag for 3 euro and getting a nice tan there are some very good bars there if you know where to look and Peter knows them all.:D
I had a great time and would go back like a shot .:D Thanks Benipete:cool: I know it was out of the main season but there where still plenty of people about especially in the Piccadilly bar but did not see one bit of trouble while we where there all the people i met where friends of peter and all very nice. |
Re: Benidorm claps down on unruly Brits
I had a good time... I made that pretty clear... the spanish people i didnt like... Still want an answer to the remark benipete made though.
Knowing where to go will help.. I guess thats why people go back to same place.. the more they know then the more they will enjoy it... I prefer new places to visit and discover.. but then I dont go on that many holidays :) |
Re: Benidorm claps down on unruly Brits
i agree with the huge fines for leaving a broken glass bottle on the beech and other dangerous items but getting fined for putting up an unbrella too early is a joke

Don't judge an entire nation on the few you have met, most are very nice and welcoming.Speaking the language helps also even though I am quite limited.:hidewall: |
Re: Benidorm claps down on unruly Brits
Everyone can spell better than me.. what really ammuses me is people from other countries who send emails and apologise for there english when its better than mine :)
Ho and I did take the trouble to learn enough spanish and frenc to be able to use manners at the minimum and able to ask questions.. much to the great amusment of our kids. I am slightly illiterate.. there are reasons.. ... dont let it bother you.. doesnt bother me:) |
Re: Benidorm claps down on unruly Brits
spain you find if ya take the trouble, is very much like england,- different areas, different people, on the whole i found the spanish people great, friendly, very helpful, n even more so in andulucia. a sweeping generalisation saying ya don't like the spanish k-p, it would be like me saying i don't like photographers. which is not the case.:dflam:

also why would spelling on a messageboard even be important so long as people get the message. |
Re: Benidorm claps down on unruly Brits
Went there for a mid-winter break a couple of years ago. First Spanish resort I've ever been to and I was amazed...I cannot for the life of me understand why people want to go on holiday abroad to sit in a real British pub run by Fred and Gladys from Barnsley, watching soaps, drinking British beer and eating roast beef and Yorkshire pud...still, each to his own.
However, I did find a great little bar on the front called "House of Blues" where I could sit, drinking Spanish beer, watching the waves roll in and listening to Chicago blues...so Pete's right, there really IS something for everyone. |
Re: Benidorm claps down on unruly Brits
I don't reckon much to beaches - prefer lakes, mountains and above all culture,
So I never see brit lager louts on holiday - and even the germans I meet are nice and civilised |
