It's a great pity that you don't take a leaf out of your colleague, Councilllor Dawson's book and support your local club.

Thankfully I can't see certain member's post anymore, but I can take a guess at who is being referred to.

Can it still really be going on, eighteen months after it was first mentioned in this thread?

http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...ers-31990.html

At least my obsessions have a reasoning to them...greed and arrogance being the main two.
Which neatly brings us back on thread.:D

Yes it's still going on Rindy, He referred to the "prince of clowns" I think it was, and naive me thought he was referring to PB

From our view;
• Velco fastened recycled bags are to be introduced (Labour idea taken on by Conservatives) We reduced costs from £150,000 to £38,000
• Working Mens Clubs and Cricket Clubs to receive 80% rate relief. £10,000
• Labour Councillors (independent) Neighbourhood Management projects to take over failing Area Councils

I make this point because Jaysay and AndrewB howl we don't contribute which has never been true. Again 'the race to the bottom' they try to promote.

I notice you neglected to inform people how your Labour government are failing to fund Hyndburn properly. If they'd increased our grant by the average amount across the country, we'd probably be enjoying a 0% council tax increase. Never mind though, don't let the truth get in the way of a good bashing of the Conservatives eh.

No seriously I can. Quite happily. For the reason being his trolling bores me, and is in danger of spoiling subjects I care dearly about, and for that reason he's on 'ignore' for a very long time to come.:)

His ramblings become more and more bizarre, the more alcohol is consumed.

They say a little learning is a dangerous thing. I'd say doubly so when mixed with a lot of alcohol.

He takes banality to almost a level worthy of being considered an art form, and we all know what sort of artist that makes him.;)

:D

can someone who sits on the council ask why we need an increase and why we couldnt have a freeze?

How would you like to manage that?
No pay rise for council employees?
Redundancies?
Reduction of services?
Neglect further our towns, parks and open spaces?

Andrew do you think it was a good idea for the Labour Group to present a fully costed Budget (which was fully checked by the Chief Finance Officer).

Why should she. She is totally free to support whichever team she wants too. I already thing the Council support Accy Stanley enough - after all why should my Council Tax be spent on a private business?

I would rather see the market stall holders being helped with there rents to try and save the town centre.

The whole of Hyndburn's already supporting Accy Stanley, a privately owned company, to the tune of £80,000.;)
