I would just point out also that the council recently has missed out on the chance of much needed external funding, because apparently the form wasn't filled in correctly.

What about all the silverware that was sold of to be sacrificed on the altar of the globe centre, and you convieniently forgot about my quesion about the company director:confused:

Boundry changes didn't happen unil 2002 when all the council were up for election because the council was reduced from 47 to 35 councllors, labour took cotrol at tha election, but the Tories regained control 12 months later

I have no interest in what Labour or Tories did 10 years ago, why do you Jaysay keeping harping back to those days. My interest is now and I think the present council are making a hash of it. Can we please stick with current events and how we can make it better for all of us.

John

If you'd actually seen a copy of the budget from Thursday you would have seen that we took NO money from reserves but I did really enjoy all the "LABOUR RAIDING THE PIGGY BANK" speeches that Peter had written for his cronies to bash me with, such a pity they didn't do their homework and CHECK THEIR FACTS !!!!! P.S I wish ASFC all the best of luck but I've supported Burnley all my life and I'm not a hypocrite, by the way I do go onto Stanley when I get a chance (probably 3 or 4 times a season) and before you ask, yes I do pay, I've never used the season tickets from the council

I agree.

We keep getting told the new Tory-Lite brand is nothing like the Conservative party of old. Just as New Labour ditched the ideals of socialism long ago in order to appeal to Middle England.

It's the situation here and now that is the most pressing concern here in Hyndburn.

How many of those are there?

Were they in existence before the recent £80,000 funding the council gave to the club?

I know you asked the question in this thread Cashy but the same stuff keeps appearing in more and more threads when someone is losing the arguement. It's a sign I know a lot about as I use the same tactics when discussing football with Man Utd fans but it always makes you look a prat.:(

No, they are quite recent and there are 6 of them, including corporate hospitality.

Nice.

Can't really be called a bung I suppose, but an interesting thing to ponder for the people of Hyndburn who might now be on short time or out of work, that they may be indirectly funding free season tickets, courtesy of £80,000 worth of their Council Tax, when they are having to explain to their kids why they can't take them to see their favourite team.

Had we not took the action we did the area around the globe centre would today be an environmental disaster. Plus hundreds of new jobs were created

The point about the company director,I don't know who you are talking about.

You don't know who I'm talking about, that's very interesting indeed and you've not mentioned the selling off of the Family Silver either

All councils from time to time sell assets, in order that the capital receipt can be used to fund other projects.

As for the company director, it's difficult to comment if I don't know who you are talking about.

Yes rather than just hinting at veiled corruption, name names.

It's not like you to be so bashful and coy.

If you're right you'll be fine, if not we'll have that talked about brew when I come to visit you in the clink.

:D
