Why did people not leave the bins on the pavement - did they come on the wrong day?

Everyone left their bins at the edge of the payment as normal, and they came on the normal day for our estate, but for some reason they didn't empty all of them

They came and emptied ours today on Avenue Parade, but didn't drive up the back alleys, they walked up for the bins, emptied them in the waggon on the side streets, but then left all the bins on the side streets for people to drag back up themselves. When i'd dragged mine back i looked inside...which they obviously hadn't...because there were still three binbags inside, so its half full already!!

Quite a giant leap into the land of conclusions there Neil.

If you notice next to the bin on it's side is one with Blackburn Rd scrawled on it so that back alley will have rich pickings being behind all those take-aways.

I have been in contact with the refuse collection department this morning and the current situation is as follows -

Last week we had reactive teams picking up where people had left their waste out to reduce the accumulation.
We appreciate that some people did not have their bins out but scheduled collections are continuing as planned this week. The crews are also removing all side waste as we have relaxed the rules for this collection.

So if your black bins are scheduled to be collected this week - please leave them out and any side waste as well

Our wheelie bins, although I kept mine in, were meant to be collected last Monday.

Happily the recycling was collected normally this Monday, and the day after the wheelie bins, and all sacks, were taken away.

So they are trying to catch up.

Well Lucky Me...my recycling was collected early this morn whilst i was at the Gym...and when i got back my Blue Bin, Blue Sack and White Sack have all been nicked!!

In the past ive also had 2 Black Wheely bins nicked too....what the hell is it with folk today, is it easier/more desirable to nick other folks stuff rather than take 2 minutes to pick up a phone and order a replacement from the council....which ive just done ....AGAIN!!!:(

Best Regards - Taggy

well have had to lug it to tip,:( was my mistake they emptied the wheely bins just before dinner, as they also emptied it last friday, i wrongly assumed it was recycle day, as most wheelys i saw on our back were only half full, due to last fridays collection, makes perfect sense to do em again, when ya got re-cycled crap coming out yer ears.

Well it looks like they have changed the way its collected instead of one lorry collecting it all they now have 2 lorries one to collect the white sack and blue box stuff and one for the blue sacks as they have just been round again:rolleyes::confused:

yet their main objection to doing weekly collections is how much fuel doing twice as many pickups uses

well thats what they said to me when i pointed out that blacknurn had abandoned fortnightly collections and that lost councils operate a weekly collection
