Regrettably, it seems that your 'source' has better information than was given to me.

Care to name them so that a full and proper investigation can be carried out?

No.

I don't want anyone to lose their job, because of the stupidity of some local councillor/s.

If this information is false, sue me.

(It isn't.)

Perhaps the Conservatives weren't as stupid as we all presumed.

All the attention focused on only the one high profile prick.

Rather than the impression the public has now.

A whole party full of 'em.

As per Gynn's post (#313), when they quoted from the minutes.

My mistake, they're in the following meeting's agenda. Strange that they've not also been archived with 10th November's meeting, was looking in the wrong place.

I'd forgotten that we had had another council meeting and actually voted on them...whoops.

See? Mistakes happen....

Well, there's always May's elections to sort it out for you.

Who does Accyweb want as Leader of the Council, Britcliffe or Parkinson?

(Good grief, old habits die hard....)

Yes.

Yes they do.

Quite a few in my opinion.

Especially locally, since last May.

Who?

Just Googled 'Parkinson Hyndburn', and it just brought up a load of old nonsense about people shaking their tea cups, at some support group in the Town Hall.

You're not wrong there, o sage Oswaldtwistle spokesman.

How my residents wish we could return to the Britcliffe era, when no mistakes were ever made....

Oh, I'll be doing by bit at election time, as I always do.

;)

You all know me. I am balanced in my outlook and in my views(unless it is about the EU)
You ask a local councillor for information and then when he does come on here to give you information you harry him.
It is no surprise that other council members lurk in the background and do not come out of the woodwork.
It seems to me that in this country we have a system where we set people up so that at some point, later on, we can hurl rubbish at them.
It is no wonder that Ken now feels that Accyweb has ceased to be fun.

If I am honest I don't think you are being very fair....... OK, that is only my opinion.

Though I've got the strangest feeling I'll no longer be getting messages of support from members of the Labour party, or indeed be asked to publicly leak anymore information for them.

Shame, that.

Still, onwards and upwards.

I'll just struggle on alone.

:)

I'm not in the Conservative habit of suing everything that moves just because it happens to disagree with me so you're quite safe, just this once.

As with everything else related to the council, I don't believe anything until I have it in writing.

Let me know who said this and I will investigate.

Your opinion.

I certainly don't share it.

Be a different story, if those, when in opposition, hadn't used this forum to constantly attack those they see as their political enemies.

Not being a member of any political party, I pass judgement on what is/has happened. Actions, not words.

I'm not swayed by party loyalty.

If something is wrong I'll say so, regardless of who is responsible.

When I did exactly what I'm doing now, when the Tories were in control of the council, I had much giddy encouragement.

Encouragement from those who'd now like to play the victim card.

Tough.

What's good for the goose, is good for the parson's nose.

Or even the anteater's, eh Gary? Not a leaf falls, my dear.

If the Conservative group are so feeble as to shy away from their detractors online then it isn't my problem but I've been accused of running away from this forum when the heat was on and yet here I am, taking it square on the chin. It's all good and well pointing out a politician who attacks his opponents but, as has been pointed out, that's life.

Where is Cllr Britcliffe, or indeed any of his flock?

Don't deride me just because he won't come on here himself.

You asked me to name the source. To protect their job, I refuse.

Delve a little.

All true.

The benches were damaged whilst being removed, for this 'experiment'.

They were subsequently taken from the council yard, after someone phoned some local gypsies, who were told to come and take them away. Which they did.

You publicly stated this was an experiment, and that the benches will be returned.

I ask again.

When will the experiment end, and the benches returned?

Returned so that the many law abiding residents who used and appreciated them, can once more take advantage of the well used facility?

People still used this forum to moan previously, when there were no Conservative members. If they thought the council had done something stupid.

Whether councillors wish to come on here, and try and defend their actions, that is up to them.

People will carry on, posting their grumbles, on local or national government issues, if those people think what's being done is idiotic.
