You know Less, that doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. Have a balloon. :balloon3:

Re: Traffic Lights for Town Hall
In any case they are going to have to go down King Street and under the arches when the new bus station is built. So I don't see why they cannot bite the bullet and close Blackburn Road completely.
On another tack, if Accrington is already liberally supplied with free carparks, why does every road into the town centre have to be lined with parked cars? |
Re: Traffic Lights for Town Hall
I agree A-b they are a flippin nuisance, we can never find a parking space for all them blinking cars! :D

The best solutions are often the simplest ones.

with entrance via mini-roundabout on Paradise street  But in the words of our "planning committee" the car park could have a barrier, and may not be available for public use at weekend, just the same as the Globe car parks  Bit off topic but worthy of a mention :D |

Re: Traffic Lights for Town Hall
Oh you mean the car park next to the new health centre they plan for the top of Church Street? I'd associated that with the proposed health centre. I found the description of the planned access a bit confusing.

Re: Traffic Lights for Town Hall
The article may have described the access perfectly. I just didn't follow where this new mini roundabout is going to be and whether or not the one already at the end of Paradise Street (the junction with Church Street) is still going to be there. If so that would be two mini roundabouts in very close proximity but not without precedent. Perhaps it will be clearer to me when I eventually see it.
