Alan Johnson does a runner

See that good old Al has decided he's not up to the task as Shadow Chancellor, not surprising really when he didn't even know the national insurance rate the other day, another Estel Morris, totally out of their depth

It's almost as bad as the French President not knowing which country he is in.

I'd have thought you'd have appreciated a 'man of the people' politican, regardless of party allegiance.

An orphan, brought up in a council flat, and who entered politics after years working as a postman.

Makes rather a change from the plethora of public school educated, Oxbridge graduates, careerist politicans, who inhabit both sides of the chamber in the House of Commons nowadays.

Maybe he thought it better to step back and let someone with more experience take over, rather than saying nowt and pocketing a good wage.
The honerable but not the tory way a fear.

Pickles by name.

Pickled by nature.

Though as well as pickles, it looks like he ate all the pies too.

No need to wait. It's just been on the BBC news, Johnson's police protection office was having an affair with his wife. Allegedly.

How boring.

Retiring to 'spend more time with family' is usually a euphemism for something much more exciting. Forcing a resignation, before the story goes public.

It can be something to do with the unnatural use of an orange, and a stocking.

Well it did when politics was more glamorously sleazy. Instead of just sleazy.

Or, back in the day, Gerald Ford welcoming Anwar Sadat as the "President of the great state of Israel."

Unlike the tories who add 2+2 (or any numbers for that matter), and come up with the answer: "13 years of Labour misrule."
