Yeah I would, but if he put one hand towards that bag he would be out of the window quicker than he expected!

No Bagpuss I’m not sure I would. However if he was about to detonate an explosive device it wouldn’t make a lot of difference.

Me neither......I think I would wait for the next one or walk......but then even that is not safe.
You could be walking by a bus as it explodes and the debris could kill you. Life isn't safe....it never has been, BUT it is even more dangerous now.

The only thing I think is....... that if we don't go about the stuff we do every day, then the terrorists have won a victory of sorts.

In the November after the WTC I was supposed to be going to New York......but my friend said it was too dangerous to travel there.......so in effect the terrorists beat us.

Re: Heightened Tensions

Intriguing question.

If he was preparing to set off a bomb, like Doug, I don't think it would make all that much difference whether you sat next to him or not. On the other hand, not sitting next to him would imply that the animals who set off the bombs in London had won and created a division where none previously existed.

I think the safest option would be to sit next to him and quietly inform him that you carried a device linked to your heartbeat and cunningly disguised as a wristwatch which, if disrupted, would send a signal to the UK's Nuclear Arsenal with an instruction to prime and launch an intercontinental ballistic missile towards Mecca. That should cool his itchy fingers.

we flew to new york 15 weeks after, and then had 8 internal flights after our arrival, its not cos we are heroes or owt,its quite simply i believe it doesn't matter how you live your life, good, bad, smoke, non smoke etc,its ok till the boss pulls your clockcard then its goodnight vienna, and we aint bible thumpers or owt like that, just what i believe.

Yes, I would. They are so few and far between.

I don’t doubt your word Garinda, but I believe it something that’s hard to judge until you are faced with the situation. I must confess that today I walk into the Information centre in Ambleside there were some six or seven young Asians (late teens or early 20s) all in dark clothing and all carrying dark rucksacks on the backs. I didn’t notice until they were pointed out to me, neither I, nor anyone else took any notice, in reality there was no need too, it’s a sight that you would take as quite normal. If a lad walks down Blackburn Road tomorrow afternoon, would we cross over the road? I don’t thinks so. Like I have already said in this thread in answer to Bagpuss’s question “would I sit next to one on the tube?” I might feel a T***, I might even feel ashamed…….. but I don’t think I would.

Re: Heightened Tensions

Thank you for not doubting my word. It's the truth.

Just as when l heard three IRA bombs go off whilst in London, it didn't put me off sitting next to someone if they had an Irish accent.
