Maybe Lancashire hasn't got a bottom if Chorley is central and most points south are in other counties.

Ah but that's because 'riding' means 'one third part of' so you can't have four thirds! Not that anybody seems to refer to the Ridings any more even though geographically they do still exist.

Since when did tykes learn to count.
   There are so many areas that are being changed that eventually the original designation may get lost. Saying that though they did get shut of Rutland but brought it back. Do people still use Salop in their area i wonder, or Shropshire? Just a thought as it is getting more and more confusing So anything I sent to my mum would be; Huncoat Accrington Pennine Lancashire Lancashire BB5
