Re: Kids fighting

Will let you watch it but would say you have got it right but even more sad parents bullying their own kids.

Re: Kids fighting

A couple of lads i used to work with are training in mma (mixed martial arts), and i have to say there is a lot of discipline and hard work put into it and i have seen how much pressure they put on themselves to be the best and i do think to place that much pressure on young children is very unfair and potentially damaging. To be honest i disagree with the fighting side of it, but atleast the parents are taking an interest in what thier kids are doing (obviously id prefer it if they calmed down a little with how much they force thier kids rather than encourage).

Re: Kids fighting

I wonder if anyone has done any research into the damaging affect of fighting on young, developing bodies ... I do believe that Hockey Canada, which oversees organized hockey in Canada, has rules about the amount of contact allowed at certain levels. Somewhere between "no contact for the six-year-olds and complete mayhem for those in their teens." I sort of get the impression that the problem here is with the parents and not with the sport. MMA is becoming a major sport, with all kinds of coverage on TV and with the big events in UFC on pay-per-view. So, apart from character building there is the potential for a big bucks future for those with talent.
