Summer V Winter

Tonight is the first evening I've had to put the fire on and I'm feeling the cold winter nights drawing in again, making me feel really miserable

I love summer, what little of it we get in Britain. I know everyone isn't the same though, some people love cold winter nights in front of the fire and crisp winter mornings. I personally can't see the attraction to shivering for half an hour when you get out the shower, or wearing an over coat to bed! Having breakfast in the garden at 7am in the morning with the beautiful warm sun beating down...... for me sheer bliss!

Summer or winter? You decide

Summer definitely. I have SAD and it seems to get worse each year.....the lethargy, the carbohydrate cravings.....I put the clocks back with trepidation. The last 3 years I hav e been lucky and wintered in Oz.....which of course is their summer.....alas, not this year....child minding duties get in the way.....Sunny winter days do give me a bit of a lift, but it is short lived. Winter.....ugh, I dread it.

I voted for Barbie. Why would she want a shrimp on her anyway?
I prefer summer, but usually I am working both weeks of it. This year we are going away in winter. It does not make any sense too me why everyone leave the UK during the only good weather we get.

I like summer............. but I like winter too. The cosy nights infront of the fire, being all cosy in bed watching the snow falling.............................everything looks so clean when the snow has fallen and it is still fresh!!!!!

I like winter even more this year, because my children take themselves to school now, so I wave them off while still in my dressing gown. hehehehe HEAVEN!!

Winter wins hands down. I really hate being too hot, I hate bugs & wasps. There may be something wrong with me, but I actually feel better in winter - i like the dark, cold & rain... Maybe I have reverse SAD!
That said, I do appreciate that there are some things you just can't do in winter. So I do acknowledge the need for a bit of summer to go to the beach, have picnics and so on. I'm not unreasonable.

I honestly find it difficult to say there is anything good about winter......except I don't have to go to work in it anymore. I used to dread the nights when it was snowing.....I hardly slept and would be up on an hourly basis to check the depth of the snow.....Shadsworth Rd (which was my route to QPH) was hell if there had been more than a sprinkle of snow.
There have been times when I have WALKED to work.

That's one good reason for hating winter. I also hate being cold and can't stand the miserable dark mornings and evenings.

I'm sure I was born in the wrong country. There's far too much cold wet and horrible here compared to the warm bright and lovely of summer.

My late first husband used to love snow and his idea of bliss was a log cabin on a snowy hillside with the wind howling round outside and a big roaring fire. Mine is more long summer days with a cool gentle breeze, birds singing and waves lapping.
