Weather - it was horrendous and the town was really quiet
Proximity to Christmas - everyone that was in town was there with a purpose
The recent tragedy meant that none of the Asian ladies were able to turn out.

It was a real shame but heck, you can't win them all.

I think the fact that you did at least try say’s something. Hopefully other sectors of the community will adjust in the not to distant future. :)

Oh well if we are allowed to see them it would be nice because I was disappointed not to be able to catch even the end of it with you closing up early.

What with doctors and other things yesterday I just couldn't have managed to get there any earlier.
:(

The event was originally scheduled for 15th October but we ended up cancelling it. We then had to rearrange it but had to hold it before Christmas because we had to spend the money before then.

It does point out why we're so dependent on outside funding for this type of event - we'd simply not have been able to put this on if we'd not been subsidised.

I know Tealeaf thinks these things are a waste of money and on this occassion, I've got to say that the number of people that came did mean that it was not great value for money. My only defence for that is that we tried something different at no risk to the purses of the people of Hyndburn.

I know I take the p*** Gayle and I do like to jump on the band wagon now and again. But I believe that no matter the size of your audience, it’s the fact that you get off your arse and do something for the greater community that impresses me. Like you say, you can’t win them all. But at least next time people will remember and maybe they’ll make the effort.

I agree.. its the people who get up and do it more important then the people sat at a computer moaning about it...
