Re: Fashion, Fabric and Fun
I think overall circumstances were just against you this time Gayle. Hopefully next time you do one it will be better attended and I hope I'll be able to make it. At least I got there this time even if I was too late - I didn't even get to Moorhead at all!
You never know, I might even be able to participate next time. :) |
Re: Fashion, Fabric and Fun
By the way Gayles show was brilliant. You could make bracelets, necklaces, brooches - i did and im wearing it now, out of junk stuff, you could have a go and making a rag rug, be face painted, henna painted which i refused - could imagine Gayles face if i'd been done up like a tiger going down the catwalk, be african head dressed - which i did, make a mask, and there was cornish pasties and indian food to eat. There was also a japanese woman who told the history of the kimono and dressed a volunteer up in one. There was indian dancers and they were very good. They also told the history of the indian dance. They even got the mayor and mayoress up dancing. Then there was some dancers doing an eastern dance and a gentleman playing the Sitar (that is how you spell it isnt it? If it isnt there is an edit button here!) Then the Fashion Show. There was 7 of us altogether. 6 wore indian clothes and then me - had a nigerian Akko if thats how you spell it. Anyway you will see the pictures - kipax took them. Anyway it was a very good show.
Ok thats what i posted on Burnley web. |
Re: Fashion, Fabric and Fun
The fashion show was shortened considerably because the audience (what few there were to start off with) was starting to leave at that time.

Re: Fashion, Fabric and Fun
Just wanna say, me & kids had a great time, we stuffed, sewed and sprinkled. Laughed, wrapped and clapped. So thanks very much.
As my mum said to the many people who didn't come 'free food! they must be mad!' :) |
