Britannia Pub

went to the Britannia pub on Friday dinnertime for the carvery, not a bad price at £3.25....but the food is utter crap

we went to get our meat and the chef literally cut a huge wedge of beef and a huge wedge of pork and just dumped it on our plates(we are talking doorstep sizes)

ok, yes its fine if you like your meat to be presented to you like your a caveman, but i dont, he didnt even 'slice' it

anyone else been and had great lumps of meat stuck on their plates?

We don't go to the Britannia because the kids menu is rubbish. :(

Chicken nuggets, fish fingers etc.......they don't eat that rubbish at home so why would they want it when they go out?

I find these types of kids menus really insulting.

What exactly are you complaining about , the fact that you were given too much meat or the fact it should have been cut up smaller so you could eat it?
Either way seems petty to me since you had cutlery and ( I assume )opposable thumbs to hold a knife with and
cut said meat into manageable chunks.....

I think it is a little unfair to say flashy is being lazy because she likes thin slices of meat as opposed to big chunks. It sounds like the chef could not be bothered to slice the meat correctly. I like a thickish slice but prefer not to have big chucks to hack up myself. Especially when I am eating out.

Do none of you have any food preferences or will you eat anything thrown at you?

for £3.25 I wouldn't be expecting any michelin stars , are we to expect white linen table service for that price, you pay for dog food , you get dog food ;)

Whats the going price at the local chippy for steak pudding , chips and peas with a fish on top , for a take out ...just curious;)

I think the idea with these places is that they make most of their money on the drink. Even if that is not the case no one will be going back if the food is naff so they won't make any money.
