After all this time, finally met Retlaw in the Local Sudies Library. Sure I heard violins playing in the background as our eyes met each other, and his opening dialogue "I kno' who thee is, tha's Medusa" ... :D

I can honestly say was not as traumatic as I had envisaged ... ok, don't know him that well yet... tee hee.

My mother met him this afternoon for the first time, at the same venue.

She thought he was quite a card.

She particularly liked the tale of applying for planning permission, to build a dividing wall with Yorkshire, told to the young student from...Yorkshire.

:D

First time since I've known of him I feel sorry for Retlaw.

Reminds me of the trenches WWI, if you want to survive, Duck, Duck now and Run, don't look back she's after you.

Just a pity I didn't get to tell him how Yorkshire came to be populated. It were this way, when James the 1st were marching South to take over the throne of England, their foot wear were getting a bit shoddy, so they set up camp in an area all hills and dales. James sent runners back to Scotland for 2000 pairs of brogues. A week later the runners re-eappered with 4000 followers.
James blew his top, I asked for 2000 pairs of brogues not rogues, that lot can stay here.
So thats how the place called Yorkshire came to be populated.
They've been there ever since and multiplied.

Retlaw.
