Re: women, age and pregnancy
Why don't you young ens look at this from a grannie's point of view.
When having babies in 20s age decade was the norm, grannies were in their 40s and more able to help. If people wait till they are in their 40s we will need creches in the nursing homes for the elderly:rolleyes: |
Re: women, age and pregnancy
That is true but these days grannies are enjoying their life as much as us in in our 20's!

I meant at 40-so it makes no difference.

Re: women, age and pregnancy
I became a granny at 42 and so was useful to my family without much effort.(I had my son early 20s -he had his first early 20s ie 20+20=40)
Some of my friends who are in their mid 60s like me, are doing what I did in my 40s and early 50s, and it is seriously exhausting them. The next generation of grannies will be in their 80s if this trend for late births continues. |
Re: women, age and pregnancy
I would like another baby but it's not looking too promising, I am 41 now and currently single ! Would be a big age gap between any baby and my nearly 13 year old daughter, and she doesn't want any siblings ! I wouldn't entertain the idea of being single and pregnant on purpose, it's far too much to cope with, unless you are rich enough to not work and able to employ a full time nanny !

I only wanted them if i was in a serious relationship/wed ....... due to everything else i've known since i was 16 what i'd have to go through to have a child. If i'd have been 'caught out' the baby would probably have to have been aborted. I looked after my nieces and nephews and looked after my mum. One of my sisters said that i would make a great mum ... but im not. Still got time yet tho havent i:D:D. But i do know what i've got to go through .... and i dont think i'm well enough to do it at the minute. |
Re: women, age and pregnancy
Well, you got your baby to look after ... Spuggie of course :D, lots of us don't ever have what you two appear to have (even if married) .. x
