A saying is attributed to Carnegie......Two men looked through prison bars . One saw mud and one saw stars .

Thanks Davemac and others who post such magnificent photos on this thread , and helping us to see the stars , the beauty on our own doorsteps . We can so easily feel pretty low when we see a lot of unpleasant stuff around us , and we tend to focus on the muddy things . Your photos lift my spirit .

That's high praise indeed, and glad we contributors are enjoyed by others, I have said many times that we are surrounded by more countryside than we are aware of, and with very little effort can be surrounded by green fields and majestic trees. I would say to anyone who wishes to recharge his or her batteries then head for the green bits and leave the grey bits behind for a while, and you never know, perhaps the grey bits may not be as grey after all.
If you have a camera, take that as well, something will happen, you will start to see things in a different way, you will start to notice the smallest thing, and the furthest away, with the benefit of being able to share it with others if it is posted on here.

I heartily agree.
Get yourself a large helping of green pleasure, and your health will benefit...you sleep better, you get some perspective on life and you could be delivering a taste of the country to someone (who for whatever reason) would get little chance otherwise to see it.....and when you give a little joy to someone else you always get a little dusting of it yourself.

I can't take you out to the green fields and the floral beauty......My pics for today are more of my crafting ....and I know that Christmas might make you shudder...but you have to start early with the making of cards......here are the few that I made last night.

Just a few from different days and locations this week.

1. A brief visit to Ladybower Reservoir.
2 & 3. Red skies from the canal.
4. Crepuscular rays from the coppice.
