Have your drinking habits changed

Well I've been a drinker for longer than I care to remembr, but my tastes have very much changed over the years. When I started off I was a mixrd drinker, then went onto Bitter, (Lions) when I lived in Hassy I got a taste for Wilsons Bitter, then Boddies, in the eighties I went on Larger for a while, then when I came home again to Ossy in 86 I went on Thwaites Mild and have been on it ever since. But I think the bigest change in my drinking habits is that I have now got a taste for wine, I always have good stock in and have become quite keen over the last 10 years, in fact I have a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio by my side has i'm writting this post. I have to say though that I only drink White wine, as like a lot of asthmatics I'm alergic to red, go on then whats your poison and how have your habits changed over the years, I must just add for our younger members I've been at it for nearly 50 years

I don't think I have two days drinking teh same thing.

Ales of all kinds,
Guiness orginal ( not keen on canned draught but proper draught is OK)
Lager ( prefer teh 'stronger brands, Stella, Kronen, warsteiner etc)
Wine(red white and rose)
Spirits, Gin vodka, whiskey, brandy, rum, liqueurs,

You name it I'll probably drink it! :D

Well entwisi you've covered the full gamut, I never said anything about my bad habits, just the normal ones, but I can see where cashy' coming from, its only when you can't carry on with your usual habits that it hurts the most, but I'll tell you what I admire a guy like cashy who realised that life is better than looking into the bottom of a pint glass or short bottle, your a star cashy, and any young uns reading this, it can happen to you, the thing is booze wasn't my down fall it was the fags, i gave up 30 years ago but then the damage had been done, and I always said it won't happen to me, it did and just like cashy now i'm suffering, beware it can happen to you, think about it, take evrything in moderasion and remember when your twenty the worlds your oyster, when you get to sixty and your past catches up with, you beware

Yes...my drinking habits have changed.......I have found that over the years I am much less tolerant of alcohol...it affects me much sooner and the effects......the not so pleasant ones, last longer.......so I drink much less alcohol now.
I actually prefer a good strong mug of leaf tea.

When I go out I drink lager and at home I like white wine with loads of ice. Probably far to much of both!!!

When I used to work in the pubs, I would drink pints of larger, bitter & cider, and I quite liked the odd pint of guiness.

But these days I mostly drink Rose wine,

I used to drink 20/20 (before i was allowed in pubs) then went onto bacardi breezers / bacardi & coke, realised that these were giving me hangovers, went onto lager, this had the same effect, went on vodka and coke or WKDS and stay on these now, no hangover (although occasionally i do go on lager and pay for it the following day!)

an interesting little wander on this, when Lager was first introduced in Lancs pubs (Harp) was nothing else available at the time, i was young n did try it n quite liked it (was more fashionable than owt) after a few weeks, there was a article in the evening telegraph, explaining n asking WHY lager was cheaper to brew than bitter/mild etc yet Dearer in price, after that i Never drank another pint- no-body rips cashy off.;)

Lager for me, pref cold Fosters, but I have been known to indulge in the odd glass of wine , either red if with a meal or white if not. Am partial to a nice gin and tonic too, esp in Spain !
