Ebay help.....

I got a real bargain recently on Ebay but spent 3 weeks waiting patiently for it to be delivered, with very little (but polite) communication from the seller.
I paid via paypal within 2 minutes of winning the item and usually the payment goes straight to the seller, but this time it said the payment had to be claimed.Anyone i sent numerous messages telling the seller this.
Anyway this morning i recieved my bargain but the seller still has not claimed my payment.......what should i do?what are my rights?(as in if i cancel the payment will i get in trouble?)....im asking because the payment has come up on my credit card statement ready for me to pay.
Any link to information RE this situation would be appreciated, as well as comments from you lot() as i cant find any info myself.

Re: Ebay help.....

So you paid for something via paypal that you have now received. Whats to think about, the money is the sellers and its up to him to claim it. Pay your CC and be happy with your bargain.

Surely you aren't thinking of reclaiming teh money????

Re: Ebay help.....

I'd leave well alone, if you are happy with what you have bought. The seller may be having PC problems or changing banks, don't loose any sleep over it

Re: Ebay help.....

thats happened to me before , last week twice to be exact, one of the problems was that the person had recently changed email address and they payments werent going thru, so i cancelled the payment and paid goods instead of ebay items and the person recieved the money, the other one took a day to claim it but did finally, just wait to see what happens , mebbe the seller is on holiday lol, dont keep the money as this will lead to problems

Re: Ebay help.....

When I sold some stuff on ebay, 2 buyers were using credit cards and I got a message from ebay asking me whether I would accept payment by that method.
It transpires that only a few such type transactions per year are allowed before the seller has to upgrade to a 'trader type' account.

Those transactions took longer than a normal paypal transaction, which may explain why the seller took longer to despatch it.

I never really understood what was going on, but recall that the money I recieved had a small deduction from the selling price to compensate for there being no ebay seller fee.
