can't access control panel
Over the past few weeks I've been receiving pop up regardding spyware etc on my pc. I've downloaded different software which has now locked me out of accessing the control panel help

sorry i meant to add that i do get an error message saying "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on the computer and to contact your administrator"

your account has been marked as restricted. either by spyware/malware or virus.
I would be very careful of what I did on that PC and wouldn't dream of typing any passwords into it till you know its clear. You need to know what admin password was set when it was installed. Is it a legit copy or a dubious one? |

from the sounds of it you don't know it. it is set when whoever installed your copy of Windows. If you don't know it you can either find it out by asking or we can think about other options, teh worst being that you need to re-install windows and all programs
