OK, this is sort of techy but non PC

Noooooooooo I don't mean I'm going to be racist! It's just nothing to do with computers.

We've got a telly. We lost the remote. We got one of those 'works with any TV' remotes, couldn't get it to work. We got another one. The instructions may as well be written in Klingon for all the sense I can make of it.

Has anyone had experience of fettling this kind of thing and can you help me out?

Hiya Willow, do you not just find the right codes for your telly and then go through the sequence until you find the right code?

I have a Sky remote but it wont work my tv - have to use the separate tv remote. Perhaps its not set up right - I gave away my vc recorder because when I flit I hadn't a clue how to connect it up (despite having instruction book)

Have you not got a book with the codes in for different types of televisions? We had a universal remote with our other TV and it was just a matter of going through the codes to find the right one for the TV you are using it with.

Well we abandoned the first one that we got because Busman couldn't get it to work, so we got this new one and can't fathom that one either.

Thank you - I have bookmarked that page and have tried it once -- but my tv model number isn't listed and it didn't work -- will try again later (when I am feeling more patient)

Would a different booklet apply to a different remote?
