Barrie,
You realize that this is the same team with the addition of the great Fellaini and Lionel Januzaj Zidane to the first team pretty much and you guys haven't been in the top 4 once this season and its a third of the way through the season...the same side that won the league with games to spare last season. United have been one of the poorest sides to watch in the league this season, there's no 2 ways about it. Sure your points tally is still decent enough and you still might nick a CL spot, but really, for a side that are defending champions, its grim. Talk about slipping standards. Even your 2 big game results this season came when you guys played awful, awful football (vs us in the cup and Arsenal) and scored from set pieces and defended with 10 men behind the ball for a half hour against Arsenal. Your manager sits on 1 goal leads against the likes of Cardiff...and you now lost points at the death. Trademark New United, that, spirit of champions! Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
A fantastic weekend for some. A really good result for Stanley, especially coming back from an early goal down. Let us hope that the results continue for them.
A great day for the deadwoods and for the scousers - they didn't get beat. But a crap day for La Crème - we didn't win, but there again we didn't lose and still only 3 points behind the scousers, which, with the team selections he keeps coming up with is quite an achievement. Thankfully Butthead won't be playing tomorrow. Cannot understand why he keeps picking him - he strolls about, misplaces his passes, doesn't even contest simple headers. Still, we are close on Dodgy's tail, what excuses does he have I wonder? As for the deadwoods, slumping further down the league, increasing the gap to Burnley, still a chance that we could see Stanley v deadwoods next season. |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
It may well be 3 points, but it will grow. It is hard to believe this is the same side thatcwon the league last year with ease.
You have the CL this week, Fergies Legacy to you, you need to beat Sami's Leverkusen to be safe, of course if Donetsk, horrid place took Arsenal there in 2010, win then you really are in danger of dropping out at group stage. If so I suspect RVP and Rooney, will be looking for a new year exit in the next transfer window. As long as we keep playing the way we are and I don't see any major problems there, we will keep hold of Luis, the lure of a SIXTH CL is starting to look good again. You have 20 titles, I really think your not going to increase thst soon, on the otherhand we are only 2 off regaining our rightful title of being Englands most successful football club. |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Well, what an evening:alright: the record away win in the CL and against the team that is second in the Bundesliga.
So in his first season Moyes has taken La Crème to the last 16 in the CL:p I note that Rodger the Dodger hasn’t achieved anything like that:rolleyes:– how many years has he been there? How much longer will his lack of success, nay, even progress, be tolerated by Enery:eek: Keep the faith chaps, you might yet make the Europa League next season, not much else you are capable of aiming for:bingobang:tongueout |

So currently: 12 Games in Last Season, Mancs 27 Points, Won 9, Drawn 0, Lost 3, Second in table, 1 point behind leaders Liverpool 15 Points, Won 3, Drawn 6 lost 3, 11th in table. Now, Liverpool 24 Points, Won 7, Drawn 3, Lost 2, 2nd in table, 4 points behind leaders Mancs, 21 Points, Won 6 Drawn 3, Lost 3, 6th in table. I am very very glad Man U, Man City and Chelsea are into the last 16, more pressure on them. Europa League.... just look at the numbers Barrie, the way your lot are doing I expect they will win every cup on Earth by Christmas:D |

Now that will be a miracle - typical of the crap you consistently come out with:p I am quite happy to be where we are at this time, still in contention for everything, only 3 points behind the scousers and your Beano man - we were 8 points behind at one stage:alright: We probably won't win the league, NN are my guess for that but damned sure we will be ahead of your lot once again:tongueout But what about Stanley - back to back wins, definitely look to be on a roll, let's hope that can keep going like this - Stanley v Deadwoods next season?:D |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Just winding you mancs up.
After all you have David Moyes as your manager. You really have dropped expectations, finishibg above us.... My oh my the old mancs would want the league at least. We will see Barrie, We will see |

Rooting for Stanley to carry on with their resurgence and of course it has got to be a bad weekend for the deadwoods as no doubt they will have a match:alright::D |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
The problem is, the Mancs have replaced one of the greatest managers in the industry with one who is mediocre. Then against the advice of the former incumbent the new manager changes the whole backroom staff. The result, inconsistencies, winning a few losing a few. He may pick the odd cup up here or there, but this manager has history, 10 years of mid table.
The situation Man U are in is very similar to that of Liverpool under Souness. Only a rose tinnted manc would not see this. We however have a forward thinking manager, who is trying to build a team that plays good good football and wins. Its a long road, he has money and the backing of the owners. Having said all this already, I am now sick of repeating myself. I have been waiting 11 games to see the rise of the mancs....... |

Could well be that we are level when you start tomorrow, but maybe not. However with half a season to go, 3 points behind your lot is not too difficult a margin to overcome:alright: It never was going to be easy for Moyes because he followed the greatest PL manager. In comparison, the Beano man found it much easier to improve on the crap that he replaced - but he has still to prove himself by winning something worthwhile:rolleyes::D |

Waiting to see MoD tonight then I can comment on La Crème;) Chelsea being outplayed in the first half, Southampton certainly aren't dummies. Arsenal still going strong but they have some tough games to come in December. What happened to Stanley, they just don't seem able to string a few wins together but at least they are out of the drop zone:( I hear that Blackburn have called for an increase in blood donors - so many deadwood supporters and the team are having nosebleeds as a result of the heights they have achieved:alright::D |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Not thrilled by the match at all, but 1 point at Spurs is better than NIL Points at Hull:alright: - only 2 points behind the scousers now but a much more difficult month ahead for La Creme;):D

Nice to see a bounce back from our hicup at the weekend. 5-1 pretty good.:alright:
Only 3 points between us and Chelsea:D Funny though I thought the Mancs were catching us, somthing about us being a mid table club???? The gaps now 5 points, still David Moyes has finally managed to get Everton a win at Manchester United:eek: |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
What an absolute load of crap - thought I was watching the scousers on one of their normal days.
Can't guess what medication, legal or optherwise that Moyes is taking but.......... Is he the only one who can't see that Fuzzhead is not anywhere the United standard and to play Giggs for two full consecutive games. Smalling is not yet a PL centre half, in time maybe, and he certainly needs to include Nani plus a few others in a January fire sale. We just don't have a play making attacking midfielder, a couple of promising striker/ attacking midfielders are making their marks in a big way out on loan but we need someone now. Just hoping that they have been working on someone leading up to the January window. |

In less than 15 League games, David Moyes has turned a Premiership winning side, with a long history of winning and being feared by other clubs, in to 9th....
Even Souness did not do this to us. Just wait until he buys some more of his own, this is his predicessors side, you know the most sucessful manager in the premier league history. Its better than car crash tv |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles

|
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
2nd place, good old Stoke.
The day just gets better, not bad for a team that were wrote off by Barrie as a 'mid table'club |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
I must be feeling like a scouser normally does. I think that United need to go down the scouse road and get rid of this manager - after all, the scousers have gone through 9 managers in the last 30 thirty years, maybe that has eventually worked for them.
Mind you, not the only unexpected result today, or even in the past few weeks. I haven't seen the game, don't even know who was playing, but Moyes certainly does not grasp the need to sort things out. Time for United to ring the changes now before it gets any worse? SAF was certainly a good, arguably great, assessor of football talent. Unfortunately his assessment of managers does not appear to be anywhere that level. My guess, despite the "clubspeak" in public, is that the players have little, if any, confidence in Moyes. We will see when the spatially challenged lady sings. |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Well your through to the knock out stages in the CL, your record in Europe is pretty good. The man has only been in charge for 15 league games and there is talk of him being replaced. .....
He inherited a ageing side in need of rebuilding, if you get rid of him now your destined to repeat the past of many a great football club. In all seriousness Barrie you need to hang on to Rooney and RVP, without them mid table it is. I could say I am not laughing, but it wiukd be a massive lie. Remember he was chosen by the great Sir Alex Ferguson, so how can you all him. |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Quote:
Yes, he inherited the PL Champions but even last season it was obvious that the squad was in serious need of new talent. One just doesn't know what went on behind the scenes - I still feel that the change of Manager and CEO - who did all the negotiations, should not have happened at the same time. I hope that targets are already in the window for January, we will see. I do believe that we have been so many points adrift previously yet still went on to win the PL and also qualified for the CL. Hope springs eternal:D |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
I think its fairly safe to say you won't win the title this year, Man U have scored 8 at home this season, Liverpool 9 at home, since Wednesday.:D
You have a new manager who's methods and ideas are vastly different than the man he repaces, he needs to have a clear out in Jan and bring some new talent in. His side may have won the league last season, but that was under a very powerful manager. He did not have much chance to stengthen his team in the summer and should be given time to change the squad. The players know how to win, is it the managers fault they have lost the desire to win, Feggie would never have acepted such a shambles, I think the fans should get behind the manager and support him 100%. Walking out near the end of game is attrocious, David Moyes must be given more time. |

Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Since football was invented in 1992-1993....
The team top of the Table at Christmas and how they finished. 1993: Norwich City - 3rd. 1994: Manchester United - won. 1995: Blackburn Rovers - won. 1996: Newcastle United - 2nd. 1997: Liverpool - 4th. 1998: Manchester United - 2nd. 1999: Aston Villa - 6th. 2000: Leeds United - 3rd 2001: Manchester United - won. 2002: Newcastle United - 4th. 2003: Arsenal - 2nd. 2004: Manchester United - 3rd. 2005: Chelsea - won. 2006: Chelsea - won. 2008: Arsenal - 3rd. 2009: Liverpool - 2nd. 2010: Chelsea - won. 2011: Manchester United - won. 2012: Manchester City - won. 2013: Manchester United - won. So for our friends down East Lancs...in ALL that time only one side who was top a Christmas has dropped out of the top 4. You best be looking at others to drop out if you want in. oh and Happy Christmas |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles

What a crap start to the New Year. Almost time to give up hope of the league, will just have to settle for a top four finish along with the NN, Chelski and the Goonies. Of course with a ref with scouser ties what could we expect.
Stanley didn’t come up to the mark neither, but the deadwoods really pulled one out of the blue. Scousers still riding their luck but you must be hoping that chipmunk doesn’t miss any games either through injury or another act of cannibalism. End of an era. Wake up all United fans. This is the same team that won the league last year. The fear factor has gone now for all teams coming to Old Trafford. Nobody expected it to be easy for him but this is bordering on the ridiculous - reminiscent of the scousers when KK left the first time around but I don't expect it will take as long for us to return to the big time as it has the scousers - if they stay the course this season Still, pretty sure that the title will stay in Manchester and not be corroded or nicked by being in scouse land for a year. |

If you can hold on to Rooney in the summer, you may be able to challenge for top 5 next year, but lets face it, he will be off the minute a decent offer comes in, after all his contacts due in a year or so.:alright: Welcome to the mid table, I believe they are now calling Old Trafford the Moyesoleum:tongueout:tongueout Good news, Sky sports are saying David Moyes will be given money to buy some players this month, Great you need Baines....:and a few more from Everton Transfer boost for Manchester United as David Moyes promised funds to target central midfielder | Football News | Sky Sports |
