Just when you think it can’t get any worse – it does. TG I didn’t see it live and have deleted the recordings – too many problems in too many areas.
Mind you it took SAF 4 years or so, and how long has it taken the scousers to return to the pinnacle that was once unassailable and they still aren’t there. Thought it was the pits when I went to watch La Crème at the Anne Boleyn Ground against WHU in the old 2nd Division but now I feel like a scouse supporter. As bad as Sunderland game was it would have been even more humiliating against the NN at Wembley. Not sure about Mata – how does he fit with Rooney, will be interesting to see how Moyes plays them, at least there are a few more days to get Rooney & VP back, how they have been missed. Hope springs eternal – at least the trophies won’t go to the Hub Cap Triangle, they will stay in Manchester. |

How deep is this cesspit that La Crème are now in? C’mon chaps, you all should be able to advise as you have all been there long enough.
Of course when things go wrong, anything that can go wrong will do. Still, hope springs eternal. The one thing that does amaze me is that the scousers don’t appear capable of taking advantage of the crap displays that we have been producing, plus the smidgeon of ill luck, but they are still only 7 points ahead. That will probably change this weekend with one of us getting an easy game and the other a difficult one – we really are going to have to improve considerably for our difficult fixture against Fulham. No sign of the Fat Lady tuning up yet – mind you she may well have got the sheet music out. |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Sorry Barrie, I was looking further up the league, seeing we are only 6 points off 3rd.......2nd could be an issue because of goal difference.
Though I don't expect this weekends game with Arsenal to be easy, I am sure the Mancs almost certain win at home to Fulham will help propel them into the Europa League, of course normal service could be resumed a week later when you visit Arsenal! Seeing today is the 6th, RIP Busby Babes YNWA. |

Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Even though your team are playing absolute crap and you wonder when someone will take the spade away from Moyes so that he can’t dig the hole we are in any deeper, other things lift one’s spirits – although not as far as football is concerned.
Quite sure that the Gooners will turn up tonight unlike last Saturday, don’t fancy our chances at all, in fact now starting to think about top half of the table but sure that you chaps can tell me what it is like in the nether regions of the league, after all you do have the experience going back over many seasons. TG it is on BT Sport so I don’t have to watch it. Back soon for more slagging off all being well (Has there been a problem with Accyweb these last couple of days or so?) – turns out my router was having a hissy fit and I refuse to pay hotel rates for WiFi Better than it has been but obviously it was more important for neither team to lose, an absolute crap game to watch, but one hopes that we have reached the bottom of the pit and can now start to think about winning – why does he pick such defensive teams? One real problem is that United don’t go through managers like other clubs (Arsenal excepted), s it is almost certain that we are stuck with Moyes for the foreseeable future – Doom, doom. |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Well Barrie, since I have been around, 1969 on, Liverpool haven't been lower than 8th place at the end of the season, a feat we managed twice, 93-94 and 2011-2012. But Man U, relegated in 73-74 with their lowest place 13th in 88-89, surely you can remember that far back?
If it was not for the force that was Alex Ferguson you would not have dominated the game in the last 20 years, interestingly though he only manage to win the Champions League/European Cup twice in 26 years, Bob Paisley managed that three times in just 9 years :D Funny enough it is Sir Alex's legacy you inherit, poor David Moyes..... I see this morning David says top 4 is achievable..... any ideas how? BBC Sport - David Moyes: Manchester United boss still eyeing top-four finish Also Davey boy is going to get £100 million this summer to spend, should be fun looking at at how he has done so far in the last two transfers. Manchester United owners the Glazers promise David Moyes £100 million transfer fund this summer - Telegraph I likened this to our Souness time, I was wrong this is full blown Hogdson Long may it continue. |

Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Life can be an absolute crock of………. Just when you need a boost to ones life your team become an even greater embarrassment with last night’s display.
Moyes is blaming the players, but the formation and the method was more to blame and as the manager he is responsible for those. It was obvious last year that a number of players were past their sell-by date and all he has done is bring in one decent player and one dummy. Keano was probably right in his estimation of six players needed, but that isn’t news. At least they will have next season to rebuild without the distraction of Europe, as long as they make sure that we don’t spend as long in the wilderness as the scousers have done – or the deadwoods. I feel that United will stick with Moyes – long contract and the past 25 years showed what continuity can do, as it did with Busby. To do anything, they are going to have to spend big this summer – fortunately the money still rolls in even though they will drop a packet by failing to qualify for Europe so we will see. Just hoping now that we can stay in the top half of the table. |

Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Humiliation, downright humiliation, and probably more to come on Wednesday – could that be the end of Moyes?
Between Busby and SAF we tried a number of managers, from the quiet men to the outrageous, but then we gained stability. Perhaps it is now time to take a different path because there is no doubt that the players cannot, or will not, play for Moyes. Whether it is the method, the set up or the person, whatever something has got to change and hopefully further humiliation on Wednesday will trigger that change. The scouse gits played well, but were allowed to – a few dodgy decisions both ways, ah well, what goes around comes around. So a season were we are not going to do anything – and please not qualify for the Europa League – a season with only domestic games may well be the one saving grace. Along with quite a few other things, I honestly can’t be too bothered about the situation, I just hope change comes quickly – all around. Come on the Blues – Light or Dark, I don’t care which. |
