Following on from that statement came the emergence of the ASSF sponsored and initially funded by Mr. Khan again with the proviso that shares were issued giving the ASSF control or at least equality with the existing board. In my view if control isn’t an issue then don’t make demands in return for funding; If control is an issue then just buy the bloody club or go 50/50 with Mr. O’Neil and end the situation. |
Re: "Save Our Stanley"
Since then Doug he has said whatever the directors collectively put in to the pot he will match with his own money with no strings attached. It was in the Observer 2 weeks ago I think, but why has no one taken him up on this offer ? Seems a no brainer really !!!!

However hard everyone works to do their bit as far as fund-raising goes...this apparently unexplainable Brinkmanship is possibly doing more harm than good to the motivating of future efforts, or else why does every other posting on this thread imply that this is so???. As reported elsewhere....perhaps it is true that 'The Board' see it as their business alone to Save our Stanley, and that the opinions of we mere mortals are not worth looking at, let alone given any consideration!!. I repeat.......'QUO VADIS STANLEY ???' |

BTW I'm not saying that Raggy Thun is wrong, only that we need to be vigilant against trolls and against deviations from the all-important task of raising funds for the SOS appeal. There will be plenty of time for anger and recriminations once the future of our Club is secure ;) |
Re: "Save Our Stanley"
I know what you mean when you say you don't think Mr Khans offers don't help with fundraising but I don't think it makes a difference to the hardcore supporters who are actively raising funds to save the club.
If the directors or the Don don't want to put any more money in either by choice or because they don't have any then all I think is that it's a good job Mr Khan is about because it might yet be him who will bail the club out and I'm sure everyone on here will be grateful if he does. |

There is a new fundraising statement on the fishy site; it’s more of the same…..everyone one but the club is pulling their collective weight….. |
Re: "Save Our Stanley"
I agree Doug but I remember being a but critical a few weeks ago and got told to be positive and help so I did but it now seems everyone else is now asking and having the same thoughts I did originally.
The club want our help to save it yet they don't really appreciate the efforts on here or the club site. I few columns to say he raised this and she raised that and well done and the new totals now this would not go amiss. Like someone else said they don't think it's our problem or want to tell us much oh nice but you might mind people raising 100k do you !!! Well it is our problem because it's our Town team your messing with and no one wants to see it go bust for a second time !!! To be honest the club don't deserve all you loyal fans sometimes, you stick by them thick and thin and what involvement or feedback do you get ? Very little I feel it's a one way street. Sorry to go on I appreciate everyones efforts well done the club needs to embrace the community more to progress in the future. A friend at work who isn't a fan summed it up he said to lose your football club once is unlucky to lose it twice is negligent ..... |
