Ha ha, and you've just given Lew an idea for another gift item!!:D

The badge is now a patch style, woven circle which is then sewn onto the shirt by its edge. This 'patch' style badge allows for greater usage on a wider range garments and other saleable items (should the club choose to take up that option) and has a massively better image visabilty. One of the other major benefits of this style of badge is that the patch can be ordered in bulk for a relatively minor cost per unit compared to the cost of embroidery and applied to whatever the club wish.

Tuesday 4th May 2010.

2010/2011 Away Replica Shirt Updated Information.

Due to unprecedented day one sales of the new Limited Edition Away Shirt, the StanleyStore is currently out of stock in Adult sizes, we do still have a range of Junior sizes available for general sale should anyone wish to purchase a shirt.

As the shirt proves to be a resounding success, retail operations manager Lewis Carroll spoke following the shirt launch on Saturday. "Without doubt this has been our most successful shirt launch to date, we have handled all of our pre order customers professionally and delivered every shirt purchased to our supporters on day one correctly. It is fantastic news to have sold all of our allocation on day one and we are now working hard to get the second batch delivered in time for the weekend. I have to say a big thank you to our supporters who have engaged the pre order campaign and for their patience shown on Saturday, which proved to be an extremely successful if not busy day."

Please check the website for news of updated stock lines and new stocks which will be arriving shortly.

Development News.

ASFC and Oswaldtwistle Mills Development

The outlet has been performing much better over the last 2 months than in recent years and coupled with the development of the StanleyStore here at the club, both Oswaldtwistle Mills and the retail department have shown confidence that our presence should be included in the new location at the front of the store within the new menswear section. Development work will commence Wednesday the 12th of May.

Retail Operations Manager, Lewis Carroll spoke of the key decision to re develop and the plans for the new outlet. " Our Oswaldtwistle Mills store has been steadily improved over the last few months and is now in a position of strength to help us drive towards sustainability, for such a key location in Lancashire we are very fortunate to not have any other football club present here at the mills and so this should help us to focus our efforts into creating a successful outlet throughout the summer and further on into the Christmas run up."

Our Oswaldtwistle Mills Outlet will eventually stock unique ASFC gift items that are geared into the buyers mindset and sit perfectly with the overall shopping concept of the Mills.

Online store arriving soon.

The retail and commercial department are delighted to announce the arrival of the new Online Ticket office and retail store, which will go live on the 31st May.

Both departments have been working extremely hard over the last few months and in particular the last few weeks to get the final checks completed and are delighted to announce that the testing stage has passed and will be connected to our main website over the May Bank Holiday Weekend.

The Box Office, will be a one stop site, where you can purchase both merchandise and tickets, as well as view all your old transactions, purchase gift vouchers and see how your name looks on the new shirt before you buy it. Plus much much more!

We have some live screen shots in the full news section below.

This is a very important part of the shop and must be run well, to get the full benefit from both sides, I think that Lewis is the man to ensure that happens.

The club shop will offer shirt printing, but I would imagine it is restricted to Stanley stuff only, especially on match days.

Unfortunatley we don't do shirt printing with the football league numbers and letters, it's not something we can get hold off. We do some shirt printing in our vinyl, but it's not something we do a lot of, and if they are £40 shirts forget it, we don't take expensive risks :D

Cheers Pete anyway :)

Hi,

From time to time the Online store runs a little slower as we update the server and update stock lines and quantities.

We have been re structuring the stock quanitites lately so this may cause it to run a little slower than normal, however I have run a check on the website and all seems to function as it should (with new stocks added).

Daveingermany, if you are experiencing problems then please do email me direct at the club, [email protected] Any issue is easily dealt with so please don't just sack it off.

When I said "sack it" I meant I gave up trying to get the pages up & displayed, but I kept going back & retrying, always with the same result. I 'm not knocking anyone as I understand a lot of effort has gone into getting things moving (It's definitely better than it was) & meeting with you this Summer I know your commitment. :) It's just annoying that I couldn't view what's available as I am looking to pick up some items prior to Christmas. I'll try again today & failing that I'll be in touch, many thanks !

lew 16-10-2010 16:44

Re: Club shop

Just some information on the designs for you guys.

We had to work a price point that would be a) competitive and b) realistic to the Tshirt in order to cover cost.
The Tshirts have to be priced at £17.99 for two reasons.

1. I took the decision to have the tshirts made from a flock material that includes a higher production cost. A cost that is significantly more than standard printed tshirts and for those that have been in today and seen the absolute quality of the tshirts will agree that they are of a much better quality than the standard screen printed shirts.
2. Because of the significantly lower margin on these shirts(bourne by our smaller quantity ordering) we simply could not price them at £14.99 like our standard print t-shirts. They are better quality in the first instance and are also cheaper than standard polo shirts by £6.

Again, please take a look at the tshirt, come into store if you can, to see the quality.

I hope this clarifies the situation.

SamF 16-10-2010 16:51

Re: Club shop

Quality stuff, out of my price range but they should sell :)

The branding is a bit weird though - the black and white "iconic" range is very cool, however does it really fit what are essentially humour t-shirts ?

Picked up the other half of the Iconic T's yesterday and I must say that I am well impressed with the lot of them!!!! :) Well done Stanley and Lew on these!! Have been wearing the JD one today and I am well pleased with it, good quality and have not had to wear anything else but that all day (and before the wise cracks, I mean on my top half!!!) :D :D :)

Hope that the clubshop can continue to improve as it has done this year :) :)

:) Called in this afternoon!! Some very nice stuff in with good stock levels of all lines, spoke to a dissapointed Lew Biggest wkend before xmas and Burton game called off,he was really looking forward to a busy day. You have to feel for Lew when what should be a great sales day is dashed by the weather, having said that Lew will be at the Stanleystore tomorrow eventhough the games off,so if you need that special gift for a loved one or for your self get up to the Stanleystore and make him work abit:p sorry Lew or just for a chat:)

Re: Club shop

Reckon Lew ought to stock 'em...could be his most popular seller ever. However, if he doesn't, could be an opportunity for an enterprising T-shirt and merchandising outlet!! ;)

:) Pete!! What makes you think that ;):)

Fatso 29-12-2010 20:13

I take it these discounts aren't going up on the online Stanley Store, so that soft southerners like me can buy cheaper stuff...? :)

Re: Club shop

Just have to say that I visited the Stanley store on the day we were due to play Burton and met Lew for the first time. He was really helpful and I was impressed by the range of stuff on offer. It didn't quite make up for missing the chance to see Stanley on one of my rare visits back to Accy but I did come away with the thought that at least the club is doing something pretty well. The only gripe I have is that you can't get home/away shirts for fat blokes.

Or it might be a quick & simple way of putting money into the wrong pocket,if I could be sure mine would go straight to the taxman I wouldn't hesitate but (and that's the thing - there's always a 'but') :(
