hi guys,

sorry, you cant view it if you are not added onto my facebook page. Not everyone can because of privacy on my personal page.

It is only a quick way for me to test the water with the video, the re edited version is being worked on today and should be finished and uploaded for the world to see by this evening.

All I will say is that the video will detail the new pro fit kit for next season without leaving questions unanswered including full kit imagery. I believe that we have made something very special and unique here, something to be proud of.

Of course normal marketing gubbins for the world population aside we will be building up to the launch on the 30th with some nice events. But for now the video will suffice.

We don't traditionally do professional kit launches but theres a first time for everything and hopefully you will be very proud of it.

Video is still up on facebook, not removed but it is very much work in progress, I'm sorry if you can't view it YET! but you need to try harder to be my friend! :)

Hope thats case, but fear the latter.

Re: Club shop

it would be a massive own goal to release it without a shirt sponsor and then subsequently add one - I really hope thats not the case.

Anyway, enoug of the negative on that, congratulations to the team behind the video its a big leap forward for the club in terms of a professional new direction. I'd like to see it condensed to a 30 second burst and possibly screened here and there such as the cinema? screens around the club such as the clubhouse and Crown?

I always think the sponsors logo spoils a football shirt :D

Would think that it would deter any potential new sponsor if x amoumt of replicas had already been released without sponsors on them. I'd love it if the club were in a position not to have a shirt sponsor, that would be properly retro! :)

Would the fans pay that much ?

Was it not some foreign side who had the name of all season ticket holders on there shirts,as they had no sponsors.Would be good Google Page Ranking for Iylas, for the fans to own the club?

lancsdave 04-03-2011 08:50

Re: Club shop

I would guess that to get the names woven in to the material would be very costly. The material used in making up the proposed new shirts is more than likely already used in various shirts which keeps the cost of production down. Can't see any benefits in fans paying sponsorship money if a proportion of that is going to have to pay for a bigger cost in producing the shirt. I would also guess the kit design and the material used in it is already finalised now.

It was done as a one off at Burnley a few years ago, each sponsor paid £1,000 for their name to be on it, it was specially made and worn once

maccawozzagod 04-03-2011 14:18

Re: Club shop

i'd really like to see that done at some point - maybe the 50th anniversary shirt? the cost of the shirt should be largely immaterial (pun intended) in such a context. fifty sheets a name should be fairly attractive and some would have their children or spouses on as well - and there would be every likelihood that a shirt would be purchased for most names on the shirt.

One to look into perhaps for a go-getting retailer?

lew 04-03-2011 16:14

Re: Club shop

Hi, just to put some facts to what has been said in the above posts. The kit supplier has been chosen with what is called "sublimination" in mind. This term means to interlock a different tone in the shirt. A shirt was released by a Spanish team last year (name escapes me) because their owner is a religious man they had every cathedral and church in the vicinity sublimated on to their shirt.

On this line, we identified another possiblility for the new away shirt using this sublimated technique. What we don't want to do is continue to charge more money for shirts as they are traditionally a higher priced retail item anyway, there are two different types of home and away shirt next season already, a match elite shirt and a match replica shirt for those like me who carry a tummy giving you a choice of four.

The price does increase for sublimation of wording or imagery on a shirt but we want to carry the cost a little. How about this for an idea; instead of asking people for more money to have a shirt personalised why don't we create a shirt that is inclusive and personal to every supporter and keep the price the same which should help the overall volume of sales?

We love ideas, so keep them coming. The home shirt is in production now and cannot b e changed but we are working on something very very unique for our supporters with regard to the away kit. So next time a camera lens is pointed at you, just make sure you smile.

If you have any ideas or designs for a kit, then please do email me direct or pop in and see me at any time.

Been away this weekend, missed PV game, but saw Lew last Tues AM, he showed me shirts (on paper) & said 'replicas' would be £39.99, 'originals' (as players wear) would be more like £80/90 as more involved in manufacture.
So, if ST holders get usual tenner discount, quite good value!

Re: Club shop

hi guys,

We have to replace both the home and away kit this season because of the new deal with samurai. However we will not be going down the road of changing kit each season as it gets very expensive and I like saving money....:) This kit is on a two year deal and so both the home and away kit will stay until 2013.

The away kit is in the design stage and is coming along nicely but will not be available until August. That said, there will be a limited edition made for the away kit this year with the first 100 off the press carying unique number and image on the shirt. (which is all we know at present)

We will be introducing a 3rd kit after next season for those who want something different and this I can say now, bearing any significant change will be designed by the fans and local schools using the new kit designer which Samurai are working on.

So this 2011/2012 new home and away, 2012/2013 3rd kit designed and chosen by you!

Hope this helps.

Proven that the point of local business being able to help/support one another, not just us even another local supplier, but taken it down south is the bit that bites - purely business view can been seen as snubbing the local traders in same field, unless we're talking credits up! The stuff also seems dearer as well so the offer to keep it competitive for consumers & could backfire on pricing stanley supporters out & they will look elsewhere ie dodgy eBay replicas which there is alot of.

Stanleymad 21-04-2011 20:48

Re: Club shop

Back to fans view: just done some research - price comparision to other clubs and stanleys personalised mugs are much dearer than man u, man city, burnley, rovers & Liverpool for starters, yes big clubs but in our locality and they like my brother constantly says to me - why pay stanleys prices when he can get better elsewhere.

(even diseased my phone looking at rubbish club webbys all in name of research) you would think careful research is made 1st & in line with the supporters u have, I was surprised at man u being the cheapest in this mini research & I thought they fleesed merchandising.

well that needs doing pronto. Is this the same new away kit that was due in September?

Mrs Macca was due a walk up there this week to do some christmas shopping :(

If the away kit isn't in soon then it will have to be on sale straight away at half price as there is only half a season left! :alright:

well, i camped out overnight (not on the terrace i hasten to add) and braved the elements to be the first in the long 7am queue. Get your shirts quickly folks!

It was good to see Lew for the last time as well. I cant speak highly enough of the guy and he will be a definite loss to the club, but i wont say anymore as he gets emotional' ta fer t'brew though pal
