:)Because league rules state that as a league club you must have a minimum requirment of 2000 seats which are under cover ie have a roof over them:)regardless of any extra seats that are in the blackpool stand which are uncovered ie no roof.

Re: Planning Application

I believe the plan is to partially cover the seats in the Blackpool stand (around 300) , to compensate for the current covered seats currently in the "Cow Shed" which will obviously be removed.
This would keep us at 2000 covered seats. The additional uncovered seats in the Blackpool stand would then increase the overall capacity of the ground to league standards.

With regards to the Clayton end ( and these are my thoughts/views only) As we have had to re-profile the concrete to accomodate the seats (ie make them wider) it would be now impractical to remove them ( H & S issues) and it wouldn't increase capacity. So, at present the Clayton End will stay as it currently is.

Make sense?? If not yell.

We know folk want to stand, BUT the FL rules state minimum of 2000 covered seats, and there are no grants at all for terracing.

OK, that makes sense, Mr T. Can't say I'm happy with the way the Clayton End is being left, but I can see the logic in it. However, what about the planned redevelopment of the Coppice End of the ground (roof, new dressing rooms etc) that was supposed to be going ahead this summer? Is that on hold now?

The Crown Ground.

Tuesday 18th May 2010.

Stadium control room moved.

The stadium control room at the Crown Ground has now been moved to ground level over the summer.

The structure has been something of a contentious issue in recent years, and the club would like to thank the council and local residents for their patience while we have resolved the situation.

With the season ended now at the Crown Ground and no matches for a couple of months our concentration turns to the various developments that need to be put into place ahead of the 2010/11 season, including an increase in capacity and of course the resiting of a control room for which planning permission has been applied for. Further details will follow.

Well it looks like "Tomorrow" has come for at least one of our many things to do list!!!

They have only put it on the floor, temporarily, for the summer.
