They seem very good at kowtowing when the **** hits the fan. It's usually the sign of desperation in weak people who believe themselves to be more intelligent and capable than they really are.

The thing is, this type of statement is very reminiscent of the things said in relation to the Inland Revenue. Just substitute the words Inland Revenue for Football League and you'll see what I mean.

TBH there was more Oldham fans than Stanley last saturday, why coz they have a bigger fan base than us. Our normal attendance is usually about 1200 home supporters (approximately) but for some reason was down below a 1000 last week. Could be that season ticket holders didn't fancy paying the extra or basically some fans may have thought the result was a foregone conclusion and ballsed it up big style.

'we want to do it' but have shown no inclination thus far until we've been given a deadline.

How long until the inevitable webcall for some free labour goes out? It's a shame they've upset the ultras really :-)

Lurching from crisis to crisis. When will it ever end? This statement by the so-called "chief executive" is the most pathetic, mealy mouthed rubbish he's ever come out with, and there have been plenty. Some of us on here were taken to task for daring to suggest he wasn't up to the job - "Oh no, he's a mate and Stanley through and through", etc, etc. A true chief exec. should be able to bang heads together, show some dynamism, grab Ilyas by the curlies to free up some funds IN PLENTY OF TIME, do whatever it takes to avoid the toe curling situations which our crisis management lands us with time after time. It's like watching Dog Day Afternoon, or whatever that Bill Murray film was called.:(

I think everything is in order. The control tower is nearly ready so the old one can be taken down and then the Coppice End terrace can be taken back. A few more steps = an extra few hundred capacity.
Simple isn't it? and 50 days to do it!
It's not like the weather, a lack of money, internal wranglings, or the threat of expulsion is going to hold things up............

Dog Day Afternoon was Al Pacino and John Cazale (great film). Think you're thinking of Groundhog Day. :)

Though actually, some of Dog Day Afternoon's dialogue is just as apt; "Everybody is a con man!" or "We’re hot entertainment, right?" ;)
