Re: Paul Cook
Paul's first match properly in charge went quite well, 6-1 with a scratch team
Looks like you're happy and we're happy Win, win, situation for all concerned I'd say |

That's a sad fact of life, there is always a bigger fish
I hope he is poached and not sacked |
Re: Paul Cook
I think most of us wouldn't wish him to be poached ....... fried would be much more suitable

[quote=maccawozzagod;1024979]Interesting you should say that Alan. It may surprise you all to find out that I have done a table showing the 19 managers since our 1st game in 1970 and how their win rate stacks up.
Cook is 2nd last on 24% with only the hapless Leighton James below him on 19% Don Bramley 68.03% Dave Baron 52.55% David Hamilton 50% Dave Thornley 49.28% Pat Lynch 47.27% Gary Pierce 46.25% Phil Staley45.96% John Coleman 44.46% Tony Greenwood 43.08% Eric Whalley 41.46% Stan Allen 37.97% Ken Wright 33.33% Frank O’Kane 32.08% Dennis Cook 29.03% Gerry Keenan 28.57% Wayne Harrison 26.92% Billy Rodaway 26..67% Paul Cook 24.24% Leighton James 19.23% Very interesting Macca just outside the medals, I will send you a bottle of Banks Red Strip circa 1994 for that, have you also got the number of games for each guy. None of the above compare with Coley's reign. |
Re: Paul Cook
Is it any coincidence that the bottom four all played for Burnley ? :D

yeah, got the games for each manager, win rate, draw rate, loss rate and an average rate based on 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw then averaged by the number of games played, suffice to say that Cook was crap on all of 'em. coming bottom or second to bottom. Don Bramley 2.21 average points per game over 122 Dave Baron 1.79 points per game over 196 Dave Thornley 1.7 points per game over 69 Phil Staley 1.68 points per game over 161 Coley was joint 8th (695) with Eric Whalley on 1.55 (164), "win at home, draw away, go up as champions" was Erics favourite phrase and no doubt Coley must have agreed with that one. Back in the medals eh? |
Re: Paul Cook
Just thought i'd mention, The Snake is 1 down at home already.:hehetable

Re: Paul Cook
If the match is on tomorrow wonder if Cook will see it as reward for his encouragement towards the pitch improvements.
