Erm, my understanding was we'd get a large screen and it would cost £40K. Isn't the outcome a large screen that cost £40K?

Biggest one I can find a quoted price for is a 1.6m X 1.5m at £850 so would be hard to determine how much one our size should cost

A mate of mine just bought a new bmw for £30k but I told him it was money up the swanny as he could have got a nissan micra off ebay for £695 ...

The last telly I bought was a panasonic for £900, oh how I cried when I next went to Asda and they had a Luxor one for only £250 AND IT WAS BIGGER

40K was the initial target but was revised to £30k (presumably different spec?)

Well i.d say that one looks considerably bigger as did the one shown in the mock ups on the control box roof during the fund raising exercise.

I Also think its badly located i would of thought it would of been better under the tv gantry that way the whole of the ground would be able to see it apart from the 500 seats on that side [ which are very rarely fully used anyway] but i guess where you can place them may be down to where the sun would be at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon.

I thought it was probably the best place for it. Presumably the angle would be too tight under the TV gantry for some in the far side of the Clayton End?

I spent several hours in the optician and the eye hospital in January and my eye sight still isn't right but I could read the screen well enough. I could even recognise Coley in his playing days in the old photos at half time. (The photos could have been a bit brighter).

I'm not sure why there are suggestions that the powers that be would be so dumb as to pay £40k on a screen that's only worth £20k? I'm sure they were not born yesterday.

your forgetting the cost of providing a power and data source and the relevant brackets and supports to hold the screen in place.
£30k would not have been the cost of the screen alone.
If you have any further questions get in touch.

The Club is moving forward......:mosher:
Three weeks ago we didn't have a digital screen:(
Now we HAVE got one.......:mosher:
I think that it is super and it is mainly down to the wonderful hard work of the AOSSC, a hardy band of real supporters working for the improvement of our match day experience and trying their best to relieve a little of the financial burden the club has to battle through!
Well done to the OASSC !!!!

So we've not even had it a month and it's already broke, hope we got it with a warranty or insurance

Noticed that today, one of the digits wasn't lighting up fully - time to sort it before next season starts :)

Don't like the way it flashes up GOAL! when the opposition score, as if it's something to celebrate. That sort of message should be for our goals only!
