Re: knee jerk 'fans'
The pitch is normally okay this time of year before the water table rises, I am thinking specifically of the low attended Hartlepool game 2 years ago at the same time which followed torrential rain, but the pitch looked at its best. However from December it was always a different matter, but with he improvements hopefully not this season.
As for knee jerk reaction from fans, that always has happened and always will. After being subject to 2 hours of that football fans will vent their ire. |

Re: knee jerk 'fans'
exactly Dav007. What is needed isn't just being friendly, or words on a forum, it's doing your bit for the club. We need to think less of nice days out in Bradford and more about spirit of the blitz in Luton.
To that end myself and Er Indoors shall be getting behind big John and little Jim by going to the Luton match. I shall be taking my brother, Lord Harpenden, (of Accrington by birth) for his first ever Stanley match. He is under instructions to sing more loudly than he does at the Last Night of the Proms. I am also raiding the Didsbury Hall restoration fund and flying my youngest daughter down from Glasgow. She's no singer but can drum. I am still working on my parents, who are less keen since Newport (my mother annoyingly getting all dewy eyed over Sean Dyche again after their 0-0 draw). My eldest and her beau will also be there. They have no interest in football, so should enjoy it. |

Dav007 - if you don't have any friends you can be mine.

Were you there yesterday? If so, can we have your assessment of the performance, please? And can we have a definition of a "loyal proper fan", please. |

Re: knee jerk 'fans'
In reply to DAV007, My post was a fair critical opinion on the team over the first part of the season so far. By now they should have gelled and should be interchangeable. As a fan of many of our players one player does not make a team. The tactics we seem to deploy are so predictable they are now useless. I have asked if the management have taken the club as far as they can. I have not asked for them to be sacked as such. Another member made the point that they have taken us further than we had any right to expect. I don't share that view but it is a view. As for Andy Holt I can only praise him for the finance and personal effort he has put into the club. Other people have been saying for some time that we don't use subs as early as we should and we seem to make some weird choices to take off. Again that is their opinion. Ultimately the manager lives or dies on results. We have to be honest and open to criticism and prepare to change things that are obviously not working. The real measure of how successful the club is can be measured by the attendance which is slipping drastically. The club can not survive on gates of 1200. The rot has to be stopped now. To say people making any critical comment is embarrassing I disagree as you don't seem to fire off at people who slate certain players off. We need to see some dramatic improvement from both players in performance and managers in terms of tactical nounce and bravery to leave underperforming players out as we would expect. If the management can't do that we have to ask why. If we are not scoring and winning then we are in very serious trouble.

so true. apart from the portsmouth game the games this season have been poor to say the least and will not live long in the memory. the weather isn,t going to get any better and without improvement in performances i can see less than 1000 turn up for the yeovil game if the weather is bad. i imagine that coley and jimmy are as anoyed and disapointed as we are but lets hope we can find a plan B as the present one will only put off any fans who are not one hundred per cent committed. there,re other things to do on a saturday afternoon to bore you for less money. |

DAV .......
a) You seem to really like TRIPE! ....You can still get it on Accy Market you know! b) Your reaction seems to be a 'Knee Jerk' job but you are fully entitled to express it. Be aware though that people don't have to agree with it. c) This is a fans forum and any user is entitled to make comments about the team and management so long as they do it politely. I don't think that there are any 'Haters' .... that it is just a silly expression used by you. d) I fully endorse and agree with your sentiments about being positive! When I post comments I always take great care in my choice of language and I always try to be positive. (Even though it was difficult to do so after the match against Newport!) e) The 'DJing' has not improved IMHO. The only way to improve it is to not have it at all! We don't need ANY 'music' before and after the match or at half time! All we need is a welcome statement to supporters of both teams, the relevant safety instructions, team selection announcements, half time scores, winning draw numbers and a polite thank you after the match is over with wishes expressed for a safe journey home! Happy Halloween Dav.:dflam: |
