Re: Our neighbours..........
how about the idea of cheap entry at the weekend for bury season ticket holders. shows our support for them plus it gets stanley a bit of good free publicity. you never know some could stop with us. salford rugby club are doing this for their game.

£10/5 entry for Bury ST holders would be a nice gesture until such time as they resurrect a fan’s club. |

We certainly don’t want to be seen to gain at the expense of Bury’s sad expulsion from @EFL but based on the tweet by Chris @cjsmiffy1978 any Bury fan who bought a match ticket for their game this weekend v @drfc_official are more than welcome to come to the @ASFCofficial match day ticket office on Saturday and swap for a Stanley v @MKDonsFC match ticket at no extra cost - you are more than welcome to wear your Bury FC shirts and scarves and join the Stanley Ultras on the @FarleysLaw Clayton End or sit with families in the seated area of the @HML_Recycling main stand. Both clubs have supported each other in the hardest of times and we think this is the least we can do for our friends from Bury.... #FootballFamily |

I find it hard to belive anyone would have bought a ticket for Bury v Doncaster.
I feel worse for anyone who boughgt a season ticket. |

Burys debt was far too big for anyone with a brain to take it on; the best solution all around was for the EFL to stick to one of its deadlines (at last) and allow the club to fold so the fans can begin the re-build of a Phoenix club. football clubs have to pay the bills, they are not a charity. One of the groups who contributed to the situation at Bury but appear to be getting no scrutiny is the banks (think it was Barclays?) and investors who took the ground and car park (land) as collateral for funds; what where they thinking? While all creditors need to be paid back in full, lending money to such people against such assets should have set off alarm bells. In such circumstances of bad judgement, it could be argued the investors deserve what little return they will get from the ground and land sale. I will let the forum administrator decide if they will request you to provide me with a full apology for your outburst. |
