Most important thing of all, is a goal scorer and for once, I think Coley has to go proven!

Cole Stockton, Jayden Stockley are just two off the top of my head who make a huge difference to their respective teams :)

According to Peterborough supporters when chatting in Coleys, Marriott was signed by Fleetwood for £900k. Fleetwood have been paying wages (to some players) circ 5/6k per week albeit this may not go on for much longer once Andy Pilleys protracted court appearances are concluded. We simply cant compete with that and its not sustainable for us with our support base. As sad as our relegation may seem, lets be proud of the fact we are more are less debt free, have an owner who cares about the club and the town and is always approachable, and this is unique to most other football clubs in all the 4 EFL divisions.
We will be BACK. Onwards and upwards.

To get promoted from L2 you need a L1 squad
To get promoted from L1 you need a Championship squad
etc, etc, etc,
Stanley can't afford big money signings or extortionate wage bills
Personally I think we need to gamble our future in a young, ambitious, skilful team.
Wait a minute..... we already have one!
Didn't our undefeated under 23 squad win the Central League?
Therein lies our future.

of the 34 players listed and still with us, 17 are out of contract/loan at the end of this season...

These are:
Savin (club has one year option), Jensen, Isherwood, Tharme, Notts, Clark, Rogers, Longelo, Baghuelou, Conneely, Pritchard, Hamilton, Hardy, Adedoyin, Nolan, Lusiama, and Pressley.

Contracted to 2024 are:
Baba, Sloane, Morgan, Leigh, Coyle, Sangare, Patrick, Poilly, McConville, Whalley, Lowe, Sisay, Adekoya, Moonan, Martin, Fenton, Woods (the last four have contract extensions activated).

I’d be disappointed, but not surprised, if Clark, Longelo, Pritchard, and Hamilton are of interest to other clubs.
Jensen, Tharme and Pressley currently contracted to other clubs.

Someone at the club mentioned that most out of contract players had an option to keep I would think if that's true I,d offer Clark, Rodgers, Baghuelou, Conneely just for his leadership and loyalty, Pritchard, Hamilton the rest should be released sign Jenson if he wants to come. Of those already under contract as twenty eight says we are stuck with them unless we can sell to someone or agree mutually to tear the contract up, Sissy, and Morgan may be two shipped out if possible.

I quite liked Harry. Not the most gifted of footballers but he had the passion and fire in his belly which half of the current players lack.

Watched a very enjoyable U18s Lancs FA Youth Cup Final last night, which Stanley narrowly lost 2-1 to PNE.
The entire squad played really well. It was a real pleasure to watch lads playing attacking football with and for each other, without the histrionics and excessive cheating that goes on at ‘higher’ levels.

Preston scored a good goal early in the second half then got a really generous penalty, but Stanley got one back very late on and then laid siege to their opponents goal for the last ten minutes. At times it was like the Alamo in the PNE goalmouth but, unfortunately, the lads in red couldn’t get it passed a very good keeper.

Ged Brennan and his squads deserve huge praise for their efforts this year.

Back to the topic, having and enjoyed both the U23s and U18s, I think there are some really good prospects who, I sincerely hope, will not lose out as a result of the club having to operate within in even tighter financial constraints.

According to the Portsmouth News they've been told they can have Tommy for £200000. Really hope that's not true. Think he's worth much more than that.

All the loan players will return to their parent clubs that is Jenson, Astley, Tharme, Butler Odyeji and Pressley I think Joe Hardy, Jack Nolan, Enoch Lusiama, Rosario Longelo all out of contract I believe move them on probably a couple of youngsters and hopefully try and move out Tou're Sisse,Josh Woods and Matt Lowe who are contracted but personally don't think they cut the mustard then it's who of the out of contract players would you keep probably most are worth a deal the difficult one is David Morgan one of our bigger earners I believe hasn't played for over a year let's wait and see.

Very honest ( what else?) and interesting interview with Andy Holt on the Fishy site.
Understand what he says about needing to restructure the squad but (and this is not a criticism) it’s ironic that, after winning their Central league unbeaten, getting to the semi-final of the Lancs Snr cup and the final of the Lancs Youth cup, it’s the U23s (and U18s) that will be disbanded.

Listened to Andy Holts interview but don't recall him saying the U23/U18 squad will be disbanded.
He did say we'd had success in that area due to investment.
Naturally the loanees will depart (no great loss) & those out-of-contract will be considering their future, but surely JC will want to keep as much of our young talent as possible?
It's the old dead wood that needs pruning most.

Listen between 3:45 to 4:05 minutes - there’ll be no Central League, etc, just an “intermediate” squad.

There are enough good U23s and U18s to get into that squad but it sounds like they won’t be playing competitive games in their own right.

It's out now no real surprise,s Clark let go with a view to look at his scenario after his expected ban is over, Mancini, Hardy, among the seventeen released which includes Woods who has been invited back to pre-season training all those with contract,s or clauses remain, Nottingham Rodgers and Conneely still locked in negotiations.

Agree that there are no real surprises. Would like to see all three stalwarts get a contract: Notts and Seamus one year each and Harvey a two year deal. Could have been a mistake giving those other older players such long contracts a couple of years ago though. Also would like to see those offered contract extensions take them up. Finally get Lukas Jensen signed permanently with a longer contract.

Retained list is normally if they have an offer at least as good a last year, whether they accept or not is another thing.

Those still negotiating may have had a lower offer in some cases based on the lack of playing time and declining performances.

I think your right in the cases of Nottingham and Conneely who unfortunately due to age and injuries and a decreasing budget maybe a risk to offer more money has for Rodgers himself I think he deserves a contract on last season's performance,s but could well have someone sniffing after him maybe offering more money, still think one or two of our contracted players might be under scrutiny by other clubs especially Liegh and Hamilton if the right bid comes in and we except it it will boost the coffers but need to find decent replacement,s. Really hope Dan Martin except,s his offer he is a real talent that could stand out in league 2.

I am hopeful Tommy will still be with us next season, he is one of the stronger players who can help us to push on in League 2. If we are at risk of losing Tommy, then i hope the club will dig their heels in and get a fee we deserve for developing Tommy as the player he is today other than we should stand our ground with regards his contract with us and insist he stays.

Every player has his price.
So many out of contract players available at this level (no fee) that it could be easy for us to price him out of the market should we choose to do so.
We did it with Clicker.
Can't see that happening though.
The figure quoted in that "report" looks about right.

You’ve berated the club for not spending on good players at the beginning of last season, with some justification, but now you imply giving away one of our best players for a relative pittance is OK.
Just when we’ll need every good player we can hold on to.
Who, for £200K, could the club buy that could be guaranteed to replace Tommy’s ability and prospects?

As for a replacement ask the powers that be not me.
Tommy can be held on to in 5 minutes flat.
Tell the market the fee is £1 mill.
We can keep him until his contract expires in 2024, and no doubt he will move on upon expiry for nothing.

A lot obviously depends on the player has well unless Stanley tell the lad look we need to cash in on you which probably or hopefully isn't the case it's like all players were the agent,s earn their keep, reported,s suggest Portsmouth are interested and they make a move telling agent and player if you sign we will for argument sake treble your wages you can move back with your family and friends then it's down to the club if he says look I,d like to accept this " offer " then do you stand in his way risking an unhappy player or accept a " reasonable offer. "?

Think it's going to be a season of consolidation in EFL2 for both our clubs with each loosing proven players to those with bigger finances.

Was shocked to read that Harvey Rogers could be on his way to Grimsby as i thought he was excellent on the few times i have seen him.

However I'm sure Coley will find an adequate replacement and don't be surprised if our former player and crowd favourite Ryan Cooney swaps one red shirt for another.

Harvey was one of three under discussions, but on Wikipedia it claims his “current” club is Grimsby, so I guess he’s moved back to the east coast.

Lots of online press reports saying Harvey is on his way to Grimsby. Would like to believe they're wrong but the fact that he hasn't signed a new contract and the suspicion that they'll be prepared to give him more money doesn't give me a lot of hope. Looks like Wikipedia were just jumping the gun.
