I thought he was quiet with some promising moments.

I think we also moved up one place in the table today. (Orient went below us?) Everyone below us list apart from Cheltenham who didn't play.

Re: Match Thread - FA Cup v Luton Town

Don't let the result fool you, we played exactly as we did on Monday.

Both times after going ahead we forgot how to play football and resorted to hoofing the ball straight back to their men whenever we had possession.

It's good that we've started taking the lead in games but we need to manage the position better - Luton could and should have scored 1 or 2 more.

Re: Match Thread - FA Cup v Luton Town

Think we must have watched a different game Sam, not that we could see much in the end anyways. Thought if anyone looked like scoring in the last 10 it was us. Great performance and a deserved win.

I thought you hated the Premier Greed teams?

I hope we get another league 2 club.

I make a suggestion : that on each match thread, someone posts the final score at the whistle . It took me, not for the first time, 15mins to ascertain the result.

True, but it's the Greed bit I hate, not the teams.
I used to pay my 1/6d to stand on the Stretford End and have sympathy for those local fans of teams that have been bought by global speculators as a trophy brand.

Re: Match Thread - FA Cup v Luton Town

sreat team performance today against a luton side that tried to play 200 mph football but lacked composure especially in front of goal. a word about the officials . thought darren deadman had a good game especially having to carry the main stand lino throught the game. missed 2 blatent off sides in the second half which could have been costly for us.

wow, that takes me back!
We must be similar age, as, when a kid in Manchester, I used to go to Maine Road..... sixpence bus fare, 1/6d for the game, threepence for a programme, & threepence for a pie at half time!
That was it, my whole half crown spends gone in one afternoon!!
In those days, you could share a bus ride back to Piccadilly with the majority of the first team squad.... never happen these days!
