Re: Bus passes

It is difficult to feel compassion for people who wear illness like a brick on their shoulder and regard it as a licence to dish out insults and ridicule without fear of retribution.

...and even though I'm not religious, I shall light a Yankee candle for you, and ferevently hope that the bitterness you carry leaves you, in the hope you know a little peace, whilst there's still time.

Re: Bus passes

Anyway, back on thread.

The bus to the Funny Farm has just pulled round the corner.

Form an orderly queue, and don't forget to wave, as you set off.

This test looks at your ability to walk out of doors on a normal flat surfaced pavement or road.
The following factors are taken into account :
distance walked
speed of walking
length of time taken
manner of walking
When stating how far you can walk remember that any walking done whilst you are experiencing severe discomfort does not count.
For example; you may be able to walk 100 metres but can only do the last 80 in severe discomfort.
It would be reasonable in this case to say you can only walk 20 metres.
Pain and breathlessness are also considered when assessing whether or not you experience severe discomfort.

So by providing a pensioner bus pass goes some way towards compensating the elderly for not getting DLA.

funny that, i come into this category yet keep getting refused dla!

Care to provide any factual evidence that I've ever done that?

Other than to say I sometimes need a seat. A need shared with many others.

I'm sure we'd all love to see all the quotes you're going to provide, to back up your claim.

I feel sorry, no contempt, for the demented clown that started the thread in the first place

Not bad! Unemployed through drug taking but tax payers are giving you enough spare money to use taxis? I hope we're giving you enough so your whole family can travel in style!
Then you moan about free bus passes for OAP's! Don't forget some of them are still paying the taxes you are enjoying spending.

Sadly there are a few who thrive on attention, of any kind, even if it's negative.

Even sadder are those who delight in being nasty, and bitter...for no good reason.

My mum's a pensioner, and sixty seven this week (sorry mum!)

She does have a bus pass.

She's used it twice.

Not getting that many chances to benefit from having one, as she's very busy by seven every morning.

Busy working full time to pay the taxes, like millions of other hard working people, with which to keep the wasters and idlers of this country in the luxury they've grown accustomed to.

She was really thrilled to use it though.

Like most who've grafted to fund the welfare state, it's nice when occasionally you're one of the ones who get a little something back for your efforts.

Absolutely spot on, mate.

If I didn't have to spread it around, I'd give you some!

Re: Bus passes

I'm an official pensioner ... I don't get a bus pass However, I can fish for free without a licence Given the choice I would take the fishing every time I still have to pay for my deer and moose licences tho', and I don't get any discount on ammo, unless I buy it on seniors' discount day.
