Last time I went up is was all chineese imported tat, but thats a while ago...

I'd be suprised if the tackle was by known manufacturers, Diawa, shimino ect.

I use allsorts of baits, but my faves are the good old castors and hemp, ultra reliable for me.

Re: Fishing

Might have a Shimano powerloop 12" floatrod going cheap bud powerloop tiprod also, give us a bell if you're interested.

Bradshaw is CRAP!, overfished, overpriced and too far to go fishing for a bad day! Every time I go, I promise myself I won't again!

Re: Fishing

only do sea fishing, lucky to have a boat too, West Bay , Dorset, now there's a venue. Ten species over a weekend and Dolphins putting on a show too. That boat keeps me poor.

Re: Fishing

Like spud says we will have to go fishing. However i use worms , it seems like i can only catch perch with worms and not maggots

Re: Fishing

Does anyone know of any private pay for the day fishing sites? I went to one behind accrington college which had carp in and was only £5 for day however was difficult to catch there and was wondering if there was any more sites like this with private spots you can pay to use that are around the area?

Any of those places free to fish. I went to this pay for the day fishing place behind accrington college near some warehouses looked nice to fish but couldnt catch anything. However i went to the canal yesterday in clayton and pulled out a nice pike there. There seems to be a few in the canal at this time of year and it was a good size aswell

Re: Fishing

If you are a beginner, I would leave it till at least march. The falling water temp turns the fish docile and slows down their feeding and movement patterns. If you are really keen to fish my advice is use much finer/lighter tackle(floats, lines) and smaller hooks also usr much less groundbaits/loosefeed.

Best of look, I'm hibernating for the winter!
