Hope yer right Mancie, I have big doubts.

Don't know about favourite - 50/50 is probably more correct in betting terms -there will be two great players out there.

I have had a feeling that this would be Murray's year since the start - hence this thread. I haven't polished up my crystal ball and had a peek since then -wouldn't like to spoil the match knowing the result beforehand -am superstitious too!

I was wondering though -given that it's a Jubilee year and the first British man in 74 years is in a Wimbledon final -whether Her Maj might be popping along to sit in the Royal box on sunday afternoon. It probably wouldn't matter to Murray either way - doubt he's a royalist.

She was there for the Silver jubilee win of "Ginny" Wade though-last "so-called" British ladies final winner.

Would be nice if Wills and Kate could take Granny along...

Hope he can play his best against Federer and however it goes in the end that it is one of those memorable matches that goes down in history.

Federer is probably the greatest player of all time -style and class.

They wll both be under incredible presuure on Sunday -may the best man win!

I can't wait -C'mon Andy!:
Nobody remembers the runner up, ya get nout for second place not in that game

Re: Grand Slam Tennis 2012

Well Serena did it - shame for the polish girl -had a terrible start but showed some fighting sprit in the middle of the match.

The lower seeded player won the final -let's hope that trend continues tomorrow

Turned out to be a good match.. Radwanska looked gone but came back hard.. have to admit I was rooting for Serena..the Polish lass is still young and I can see her winning it next year.

Re: Grand Slam Tennis 2012

i watched most of the ladies final .. thought they both did well ... was rooting for serena to win it .. mainly because shes been ill and shes fought back ... then drove the spugster nuts tho i caught him watching it a few times .. cos made him watch the mens double final and that was brilliant .. the wildcards beating the seeded .. and one of em english as well and his partner was injured .. and then the womens double final .. tho the spugster left me and went to bed ..

thing is will i be home in time to watch the final tomorrow....

Do you get the impression she hates tennis with a vengeance? She's only been a couple of times in 60 years - can't think its because she's always unlucky in the ballot for tickets!

She probably prefers to sit at home watching Racing UK, and frankly, I don't blame her! The thought of being anywhere near that odious McEnroe character would make anyone take to the hills!

Agreed - I think her bad start was just nerves! She has the shots and should go on to greater things.

Lol! I know just what you mean Cashy

I was thinking that Serena looked a little like Tina Turner in the Mad max film

WRT Her Maj I believe you are right -not quite her ball game!

Please do not knock my all-time tennis hero, however! How very dare you?

To quote the great man himself - "Everybody loves success, but they hate successful people."

One of the games greatest charcters and still a damn good player!

Re: Grand Slam Tennis 2012

Very interesting article. He says "Eventually, the wait will be over. The one thing I can guarantee is that I'll fight my absolute heart out. I need to give everything I have from the first point to the last."

BBC Sport - Andy Murray Wimbledon column: I'm ready for the final hurdle

"Roger Federer may be the favourite but Andy Murray can end 76 years of hurt."

Don't know what odds they're giving on the match but I know who I'm backing to win!

Only one more to go...
