Whilst looking through some old photos that my late mother in law left me thre was one postcard with a picture of a wife and child addressed to the following
Wife and child of
5689 sgt J R Kay(it could be Hay)
1st East Lancs rgt
British Prisoner of War
Jennelager?
2rd Old English Camp

Sergeant Joseph Robert KAY 5689. 1st Battalion East Lancs.

There is a Joseph KAY in the East Lancs, on the Clayton le Moors R-O-H at 79 Barnes St.

No proof yet, if they are the same man.
There was a list in the A.O. & T., of returning P.O.W.'s, in January 1919 his name is not amongst them.
Have you a picture of him that you could post on the list.
Are you sure its Jennelager and not Sennelager.
Retlaw.

Re: Sgt J R kay

It could be sennelager as the postcard is quite feint,I do not have a photo of sgt kay only the photo of his wife and child there is only one living relative of my late mother in law who lives in a home in Ripon and I will try to contact him to see if he can throw any further light on sgt Kay.I myself live in Grays Essex so i appreciate the help you are giving me

Re: Sgt J R kay

Your Paderlr_ _ _ is probably Paderborn which is a town in Germany. Sennelager is close to it.
