You shouldnt ring the Police station direct anymore. The new number is 0845 1 25 35 45 - this will always be answered.

Criminal damage detection is a massive Police performance indicator at the moment - if they're causing damage you will be higher on the priority list when they are tasking each job as it comes in.

More cant from our good friend north of the border. I am about to celebrate my 42nd year in these United States. Have traveled far and wide. I didn't know that. Will make a note of the number.

The thing is that unless we have cause to call the police at night we remain blissfully ignorant of the fact that they are not there.

Interestingly enough a bunch of feral teenagers attacked my Dad that same night at the junction between Burnley rd and Spar;he had just dropped me off and some lunatic youth threw himself on the bonnet;my Dad was worried that if he accelerated the idiot would be catapulted into Burnley rd and so stopped ,then the rest of the gang tried to get into the car and were motioning for him to wind the windows down. He didn't and eventually got going again but was pretty shaken up by the whole ordeal,it was still light and literally yards from the main rd.
Please be aware that we have an influx of total numpties round here at the moment and I would advise keeping your car doors locked.

Maybe you would care to answer why the US has a higher rate of murders per populace than the UK then?

Or in fact most European countries. (if memory serves me right only the former Yugoslavia has a higher rate but I am sure some wise Accywebber will correct me)

will probably get lambasted for this .......the reason the US has such a high murder rate is the same as the reason for the Metropolitan London Police setting up 'operation trident ' , when one minority section of the UK population (representing less than 2.5%of the UK total) make up 9% of the prison population there is something going on, and its not racial profiling , these 9% are just the folks who have been convicted and are serving time.
Think you will find that if you compare murder rates among U.S. States and Euro countries with similar ethnic groups i.e. N. & S. Dakota, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Maine with say Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany you will find no noticable difference in the murder or crime rates , the same comparison could probably be made for New Zealand and Australia .

As for the eastern Europeans I think thats pretty well self evident, a total inate dis-respect for any kind of Law and Order , one only has to wonder what special business skills all these Russian exiles living in London and elsewhere in the West posess and why so many are afraid of returning even for a brief visit if they have done nothing wrong , seems to me since the "fall of communism" the only eastern europeans capable of living with 'western' values and standards are the populations of Hungary, and the Czech and Slovak republics.

The only way I can think of, and have of dealing with these cretins is have a good look at who is trying to give you grief and aggro, as it used to happen to me being a town centre dweller on many occasions. Then when oportunity comes knocking and they are not 'team' handed give them a thick ear when they least expect it, when no-one is around. The self satisfaction is worth all the precautions and taxis you use after.;)

Bloody hell,thats scary.bet they were the same ones who were on avenue parade,it sounds as if they've been busy.
I reckon they didnt actually live in the area,cos I'd never seen them before-perhaps they've been asbo'd from their correct area!
To be honest,I'm not all that happy about going out and about after 6.00 now because of these berks,as there was at least 10 of them,and only one of me-and I cant run fast!!

Very good point Steeljack. There is certainly cultural elements to those who commit crime and tend to have very little respect for human life. Still quite tired though would to respond more.
