Re: idiot drunken teens, 1.20am and no police !!
Just been round to Spar ;about 8;45 and felt intimidated having to walk thru a gang of youths all blocking the pathway in. About 14 maybe 15 of them and mainly the hooded variety, sporting their " Airmax" plumage and acting like they own the place ! God only knows what it's gonna be like if we actually do get some warm weather, the place will be knee deep in 'em,or maybe the hoods will give 'em heatstroke !;)

Re: idiot drunken teens, 1.20am and no police !!
Staggering.I really do wonder what their parents are actually doing-do they know where they are? what they're doing? do they know or care if they are smoking? drinking? taking drugs? causing havoc? I know they cant keep an eye on em 24/7 but to just have a vague idea whats going on would be something...

The parents either don't know or more likely don't care. They will not move to let you thru and it's not just me that finds them intimidating, other customers, esp those using the ATM were not too happy either.

Re: idiot drunken teens, 1.20am and no police !!
came across this item about young-uns and booze
Mother jailed for serving alcohol to 16-year-olds | International News | News | Telegraph a mother in Virginia has been jailed for allowing underage teens access to alcohol . (ok the drinking age in the US is 21 ,unfair in my opinion) but allowing that it is 18 in the UK do you think that an adult in the UK should get jail time for supplying booze to the underage or just the usual slap on the wrist ?:confused: Brian this is in your neck of the woods ..whats the local opinion ? |
Re: idiot drunken teens, 1.20am and no police !!
It depends on how you define 'supplying booze'. If it is purchasing cans and bottles on behalf of those who are legally too young to buy it for themselves then yes I think they should be dealt with severely. They have broken the law. If it's parents in their own homes giving a sip of sherry to their own kids at Christmas or whatever then no I don't think that should be regarded as criminal but the question then is where do you draw that line because I could imagine some parents finding it highly amusing to get their toddler drunk.
As someone who doesn't drink I wouldn't give any alcohol to my kids and I wouldn't want anyone else to do so either. It's then up to them when they are old enough to make their own choices. |
